The Toronto Blue Jays won a series against the Pittsburgh Pirates over the weekend. This series looked like two teams were battling it out, with very similar talent levels. This is not a comparison the Blue Jays would want to have, considering the direction of these two teams and that the Blue Jays did not even have to face the Pirates' top two pitchers Paul Skenes and Jared Jones. In this series, the Blue Jays won a game that went to 14 innings due to the offense refusing to score a runner on second with zero outs. In game two, the Blue Jays looked like they were not playing a team from the same league as they got killed by the Pirates 8-1. Horrible at-bats and a tough start from Yusei Kikuchi were the contributing factors to this scoreline. In game three, Rowdy Tellez tried his best to win the series for the Pirates, but this offense did JUST enough to win this game and the series for the Toronto Blue Jays. In this episode of Locked On Blue Jays, we break down all three games of this series, individual player performances, injury updates, news, and storylines from this weekend of Toronto Blue Jays baseball. Angel Hernandez has finally retired from the MLB. What a career this guy had. The most well-known umpire in the history of baseball. Unfortunately for Angel, he was not known for the right things. We analyze Angel Hernandez’s career as an MLB umpire, going over his report card over his 33-year career. The Toronto Blue Jays beat the Chicago White Sox 5-1 in the first game of the series. Again, this game did not feel like a win. Nick Nastrini had an era of over 11 going into this game, and he almost got his first quality start of the season against this Toronto Blue Jays lineup. Davis Schneider, George Springer, and Bo Bichette all had home runs, but the Blue Jays only had 6 hits in the game. Saying this, the Blue Jays won a baseball game, and you cannot hate on that result. In this episode, we go over the career of Angel Hernandez, Game 1 of the Blue Jays vs White Sox, as well as the leaked City Connect jerseys; are we fans of these jerseys? Tune into this episode of Locked On Blue Jays to get a full breakdown. The Toronto Blue Jays lose another series, making it 8 straight series without a series win. The Blue Jays played their typical brand of baseball, great starting pitching, and not a lot of offense. Alek Manoah had an unbelievable day, pitching 7 scoreless innings only giving up 1 hit in the process. John Schneider finally gave in to the George Springer catastrophe, moving him down to 6, and inserting Davis Schneider back into the 1 spot in the batting order. A wild weekend of Toronto Blue Jays baseball ends with a series loss to the Minnesota Twins 2-1. This was a weekend that nobody could have predicted. The Toronto Blue Jays got an unbelievable start from Alek Manoah Sunday, they came back from a 7-1 deficit in game two, and Yusei Kikuchi pitched 8 innings in game 1. Vladimir Guerrero Jr was on fire this series, having seven hits in three games, and continues to improve at the plate. George Springer was sick for the first two games of the series, to nobody's surprise the top of the order looked dangerous at the plate, swinging to do damage and having very long and tough at-bats with Davis Schneider leading things off in both games. John Schneider saw the Blue Jays score double-digit runs for the first time this season and decided to change the lineup. The lineup he played on Sunday got two hits. There is so much to talk about regarding the Toronto Blue Jays. In this episode, we break down the insanity that occurred in the Twins series, breaking down the biggest moments and storylines of the weekend. Your current Toronto Blue Jays roster: Vladimir Guerrero Jr, Bo Bichette, Kevin Gausman, Jordan Romano, Alek Manoah, Yariel Rodriguez, George Springer, Yusei Kikuchi, Jose Berrios, Chris Bassitt, Cavan Biggio, Justin Turner, Daulton Varsho, Danny Jansen, Alejandro Kirk, Joey Votto, Erik Swanson, Kevin Kiermaier, Isiah Kiner-Falefa, Davis Schneider, Ernie Clement, Spencer Horwitz, Chad Green, Tim Mayza, Trevor Richards, Genesis Cabrera, Yimi Garcia, Bowden Francis, Daniel Vogelbach, Orelvis Martinez, Ricky Tiedemann, Zach Pop, Addison Barger, Nate Pearson, Nathan Lukes, Aaron Sanchez. The Toronto Blue Jays narrowly avoided a sweep against the Los Angeles Dodgers, losing the series 2-1. This offense stinks. Scoring seven runs in a three-game series is not going to be enough to beat one of the best offenses in the league. George Springer, Bo Bichette, and Vladimir Guerrero Jr are having horrible at-bats, serving as a black hole at the top of this lineup. John Schneider has shown time and time again that he is not capable of making the correct decisions to manage this baseball team. He refuses to change the lineup when the Blue Jays are 27th in the league in runs scored per game. Clearly, something needs to be changed to provide a spark to this Toronto Blue Jays offense. In this episode, we break down the Dodgers series, specific plays and moments, the pitching staff, John Schneider, and much more Toronto Blue Jays news and stories. Your current Toronto Blue Jays roster: Vladimir Guerrero Jr, Bo Bichette, Kevin Gausman, Jordan Romano, Alek Manoah, Yariel Rodriguez, George Springer, Yusei Kikuchi, Jose Berrios, Chris Bassitt, Cavan Biggio, Justin Turner, Daulton Varsho, Danny Jansen, Alejandro Kirk, Joey Votto, Erik Swanson, Kevin Kiermaier, Isiah Kiner-Falefa, Davis Schneider, Ernie Clement, Spencer Horwitz, Chad Green, Tim Mayza, Trevor Richards, Genesis Cabrera, Yimi Garcia, Bowden Francis, Daniel Vogelbach, Orelvis Martinez, Ricky Tiedemann, Zach Pop, Addison Barger, Nate Pearson, Nathan Lukes. The Toronto Blue Jays have a huge problem with their batting order. George Springer, Bo Bichette, and Vladimir Guerrero Jr are all hitting under .235 to start the season. As a result, it has been 17 games since the Toronto Blue Jays have scored more than 5 runs in a baseball game. Something needs to be done. We discuss what we believe the batting order should be to provide a spark to this offense. The Blue Jays dropped a 2-1 game against the Kansas City Royals as a result of a rain delay, that ended the game after 5 innings. Jose Berrios gets the loss after making one bad pitch to Salvador Perez that brought both runs home for the Royals. The 5 inning rule has always been in the MLB, but it's hard not to feel cheated in a baseball game that only lasted 5 innings. Do you think the MLB should extend the minimum number of innings required for a game to count as being played? The Blue Jays host the LA Dodgers for a home weekend series. This will be a huge test for the Blue Jays offense, as they will need to keep up with the Dodgers if they want to win a series. Will the Toronto Blue Jays win the series against the Los Angeles Dodgers? Your current Toronto Blue Jays roster: Vladimir Guerrero Jr, Bo Bichette, Kevin Gausman, Jordan Romano, Alek Manoah, Yariel Rodriguez, George Springer, Yusei Kikuchi, Jose Berrios, Chris Bassitt, Cavan Biggio, Justin Turner, Daulton Varsho, Danny Jansen, Alejandro Kirk, Joey Votto, Erik Swanson, Kevin Kiermaier, Isiah Kiner-Falefa, Davis Schneider, Ernie Clement, Spencer Horwitz, Chad Green, Tim Mayza, Trevor Richards, Genesis Cabrera, Yimi Garcia, Bowden Francis, Daniel Vogelbach, Orelvis Martinez, Ricky Tiedemann, Zach Pop, Addison Barger, Nate Pearson, Nathan Lukes. The Toronto Blue Jays are not going to win many games scoring two runs over three games, while getting 1-hit and no-hit in two out of three of those games. This offense needs to switch something up. Whether it is new personnel in the lineup, a change in approach or just being better hitters, the Blue Jays need to score more runs. Toronto Blue Jays fans have the right to be frustrated, as this was the same problem this team was having last season, and it has somehow gotten worse to start the season. Things do not get any easier as the Blue Jays head to New York to take on the Yankees. The Yankees are coming off a 2-1 series win against the Diamondbacks and swept the Astros in a 4-game set 5 days before they are set to take on the Toronto Blue Jays. What do the Blue Jays need to do to get some more production offensively? Do the Blue Jays have enough talent on this roster to compete for a World Series? Your current Toronto Blue Jays roster: Vladimir Guerrero Jr, Bo Bichette, Kevin Gausman, Jordan Romano, Alek Manoah, Yariel Rodriguez, George Springer, Yusei Kikuchi, Jose Berrios, Chris Bassitt, Cavan Biggio, Justin Turner, Daulton Varsho, Danny Jansen, Alejandro Kirk, Joey Votto, Erik Swanson, Kevin Kiermaier, Isiah Kiner-Falefa, Davis Schneider, Ernie Clement, Spencer Horwitz, Chad Green, Tim Mayza, Trevor Richards, Genesis Cabrera, Yimi Garcia, Bowden Francis, Daniel Vogelbach, Orelvis Martinez, Ricky Tiedemann, Zach Pop, Addison Barger, Nate Pearson, Nathan Lukes, Mitch White.
