PCB releases schedule of Australia's tour of Pakistan _____________________________________________________ The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has revealed the schedule of Australia's tour of Pakistan, scheduled to take place in March-April next year. Tim Paine's Australian side is scheduled to visit Pakistan and take on the Men in Green for three Test matches, an equal number ODIs and one T20 match next year. The first Test match between the two sides will be played from March 3 in Karachi while the second Test will be played from March 12-16 in Rawalpindi. The teams will then play a third Test match in March 21-25 in Lahore. The Tests will be played as part of the ICC World Test Championship, while the ODIs will be connected to the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup Super League – a 13-team event from which the seven highest-placed sides and the hosts, India, will qualify directly for the event proper in 2023. All four white-ball matches of the series will take place in Lahore from March 29 to April 5, confirmed the PCB. This will be the first time that an Australian side will be visiting Pakistan to play a cricket series here after 24 years. The last time an Australian squad played a series in Pakistan was in 1998 when Mark Taylor led them to a 1-0 series victory – their first since Richie Benaud’s side defeated Fazal Mahmood’s team by 2-0 in the 1959-60 series. Between the two series, Pakistan hosted Australia in 1964-65 (drew 0-0), 1979-80 (won 1-0), 1982-83 (won 3-0), 1988-89 (won 1-0) and 1994-95 (won 1-0). Pakistan staged the last four series with Australia offshore – 2002-2003 (Colombo and Sharjah, Pakistan lost 3-0), 2010 (drew 1-1 in England), 2014-15 (won 2-0 in the UAE) and 2018-19 (won 1-0 in the UAE). 'A special treat' PCB Chairman Ramiz Raja, who played eight Tests and 18 ODIs against Australia: “I am delighted to welcome Australia to Pakistan. From a personal point of view, it pleases me no end that we’ll be engaged in a three-Test match series, connoisseurs delight. “Australia are one of the high-performing sides and them playing in our backyard for the first time after a gap of 24 years will be a special treat for the fans. “Likewise, it will be a great opportunity for the Australia cricketers to not only play at our iconic venues but also feel and enjoy the respect, love and hospitality that this great country offers, something which most of their previous generation of cricketers missed out by playing offshore.” Cricket Australia Chief Executive Nick Hockley: “Cricket Australia is excited about the prospect of touring Pakistan next year for what will be a highly anticipated series in a country so incredibly passionate about the game and their national team. “Pakistan is a formidable opposition with an exceptionally talented team, as evidenced by their dynamic performances in the current ICC Men’s T20 World Cup in the UAE. “We thank the PCB for their considerable efforts in planning for the tour and look forward to continuing to work closely over the coming months to finalise the necessary operations, logistics, security and Covid-19 protocols. “The safety and welfare of our players and staff remains our number one priority, and we will continue to work with the PCB and relevant agencies to ensure that appropriate and sufficient arrangements are put in place for the tour.” For More Videos Subscribe - https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCF73oBsmZPG6YRZV-vVN1-A Visit our Website for More Latest Update - https://www.geosuper.tv #GeoSuper #T20WorldCup #PAKvsBangladesh #PAKvsAUS #MohammadHafeez #PakistanCricketTeam #ASKInziMushionGeo #ShoaibMalik #InzamamUlHaq #MushtaqAhmed #BabarAzam
T20 World Cup: Pakistan Continue Unbeaten Run, Beat Scotland to Top Group 2 Pakistan continued their unbeaten streak in the ICC Men's T20 World Cup with a 72-run win over Scotland in their last Group 2 match at the Sharjah Cricket Stadium on Sunday. With the big win, Pakistan signed off from the Super 12 as the toppers of Group 2. They are the only team to enter the semi-finals undefeated. The win was set-up by a clinical batting performance by Pakistan, registering 189/4 in their 20 overs. It was started by a classy 66 off 47 balls by captain Babar Azam and ended with an unbeaten 18-ball 54 blitzkrieg by Shoaib Malik. In between, Mohammad Hafeez chipped in with an important cameo of 31 off 19 balls. In reply, Scotland never looked to chase the massive target and were eventually restricted to 117/6 in their 20 overs. A hapless performance from the Afghanistan cricket team has Pakistani Twitterati suspecting foul play, with many taking aim at the Afghanistan cricket team and India the best way they know how to — through memes. India handed Afghanistan a mammoth 211-run target from its 20 overs. The Afghanistan batting lineup, in response, never looked comfortable chasing the total right from the word go. The opening pair of Mohammad Shahzad and Hazratullah Zazai fell to Shami and Bumrah inside the first five overs of the match. No sooner had the Indian innings finished, Pakistanis took to Twitter to post memes that blamed the Afghanistan cricketers for allegedly throwing the match for lucrative IPL contracts. T20 World Cup: Pakistan make their way to semi-finals after defeating Namibia Former champions Pakistan became the first team to qualify for the semi-finals of this year's Twenty20 World Cup after thrashing Namibia by 45 runs for their fourth consecutive victory in the tournament on Tuesday. The Group II leaders went into the match with a perfect 3-0 record and minnows Namibia had the will but not the wherewithal to halt the Pakistan juggernaut in the one-sided Super 12 contest. Babar Azam led by example with a classy 70 and Mohammad Rizwan smashed an unbeaten 79 to fire Pakistan to a commanding 189-2. Pakistan vs Namibia: Green shirts eye semi-final spot in match against Namibia After notching up three successive wins against India, New Zealand and Afghanistan, Pakistan is on the brink of qualifying for the semi-finals and is aiming to seal the spot with a win against Namibia in Abu Dhabi tonight (Tuesday). Pakistan and Namibia will face each other for the first time in T20Is. Namibia will face their sternest test yet against Pakistan, who have been unstoppable so far in the Super 12 of the ICC Men's T20 World Cup 2021. Unbeaten in the T20 World Cup so far, Pakistan have gone from dark horses for the tournament to one of the strong favourites in just three games. While bowling has historically been Pakistan's strong suit, the team's batting, led from the front by captain Babar Azam, has bailed them out of trouble twice in the last two games. Namibia, on the other hand, come into this game on the back of their first loss in the Super 12 to Afghanistan. While it was expected that the Eagles would find it difficult to deal with the spinners in Afghanistan's ranks, Namibia were done by the pacers who claimed seven of the nine wickets that fell. As such, Namibia will have their task cut out facing the dangerous pace bowling trio of Shaheen Afridi, Haris Rauf and Hasan Ali, who have accounted for 14 of the 21 wickets Pakistan have claimed so far. The spinners, too, have played their roles to perfection, giving little respite to opposition batters between overs of searing pace. If the Namibian batters are to hold their own against Pakistan, they will be banking on their "Bomb Squad", consisting of captain Gerhard Erasmus, David Wiese and JJ Smit, to make a collective impact. Teams Pakistan is unlikely to tinker with the combination that has won them games against India, New Zealand and Afghanistan and put them on top of Group 2. Possible Pakistan XI: Mohammad Rizwan (wk), Babar Azam (captain), Fakhar Zaman, Mohammad Hafeez, Shoaib Malik, Asif Ali, Imad Wasim, Shadab Khan, Hasan Ali, Haris Rauf, Shaheen Afridi. Meanwhile, Namibia are unlikely to make wholesale changes despite the loss against Afghanistan, but could look to strengthen their batting order by bringing back Stephen Baard in place of Pikky Ya France, who has gone wicket-less in the tournament so far. Possible Namibia XI: Stephen Baard, Michael van Lingen, Craig Williams, Gerhard Erasmus (captain), David Wiese, JJ Smit, Zane Green (wk), Jan Frylinck, Nicol Loftie-Eaton, Ruben Trumpelmann, Bernard Scholtz. In the spotlight Pakistan's Fakhar Zaman Considering he is the only southpaw in Pakistan's top six, Fakhar Zaman will have a very important role to play in neutralising Namibia's left-arm heavy attack. He struggled against New Zealand, taking 17 balls to get to 11, but found some sort of rhythm against Afghanistan with a 25-ball 30. After their opening game against India, Pakistan's openers haven't quite clicked in the previous two games. If there comes a situation where Zaman is out to bat early, Pakistan will hope he can dominate the Namibian bowling attack. Namibia's David Wiese David Wiese was the lone warrior with the bat for Namibia in their 62-run defeat to Afghanistan on Sunday. Even as the rest of the batting order struggled to deal with the spin and pace, Wiese soldiered on, being the only batter to go past the 20-run mark. Though his innings only delayed the inevitable, Namibia will be hoping their leading run-scorer in the tournament so far can lead the way against a strong Pakistan bowling attack. If Namibia have to challenge the in-form Pakistan team, Wiese has to continue his recent form. He has scored 142 runs and chipped in with four wickets in five matches played in the T20 World Cup so far. His wealth of experience (272 T20 matches) in the format certainly makes him a must-have player in the fantasy team. Ladder situation Pakistan can virtually seal a spot in the semi-finals with a win over Namibia. The Eagles, meanwhile, will be looking to pull off an upset and keep in touch with the four spots, with games against New Zealand and India still remaining. What the captains said Pakistan's skipper Babar Azam said: “In a tournament like this, we will have to be at our best in every game and perform with consistency. We can’t be complacent at any stage against any team because the moment you give a bit of margin to your opponent, they will be in a position to snatch the game away from you, so we will have to be at our best." Meanwhile, Namibia captain Gerhard Erasmus was honest in his assessment after the loss against Afghanistan. He said, "We are aware of the challenges. We need to make use of this level. This is a stepping stone for the future."
