The New York Knicks were the surprise team of the 2021 NBA season, shocking everyone and not only making the playoffs but getting homecourt advantage in the process. After a slow start to their offseason, the Knicks have picked up the pace as of late, making a handful of signings and trades to bolster their roster and now it looks like they have built a team that should have the expectation to make the playoffs at minimum next season. For some reason though, I feel like people are overlooking this team a bit and thinking of them as a fairy-tale one off, a team with no real legitimacy as a contender heading into 2022. However, I disagree with that notion and personally believe the Knicks offseason has been great and has set them up for even more success next year, which leads me to the topic of today’s video. Tokyo Olympics Men's Basketball Preview and Predictions | Who Wins Gold?
The Olympics have officially arrived with the opening ceremony occurring last night and obviously, the sport I’m most looking forward to watching is the men’s and women’s basketball tournaments. International basketball can be extremely fun to watch and with team USA as vulnerable as ever, it’s making for an extremely interesting and potentially surprising tournament where we may see a new gold medallist. So, who wins? The 2nd round has officially concluded with the end of the Philadelphia 76ers and Atlanta Hawks series and I have to say that was one of best second rounds I can remember watching. We got two game 7s, one of them being one of the best games I’ve ever watched and practically every series had some wild rollercoaster ride involved in it, like who would have thought Milwaukee would have won like they did after that deflating choke in game 5. Why the Boston Celtics WON the Kemba Walker Trade!
Had some time since recording to better organise my thoughts, so if it's a bit hard to understand what my point was in the video, here are my thoughts: - Both teams win the trade - I like Boston's side of the deal better because they've upgraded depth for the center position, a major weakness of theirs in 2021, and they did so by getting a guy in Moses Brown who has high potential and fits their timeline perfectly. - OKC win too because they propel themselves back towards the playoff picture with Kemba and I personally think the duo of SGA and Kemba will work out quite well. The Brooklyn Nets Are IN TROUBLE
So, the Milwaukee Bucks have just tied up their 2nd round series against the Brooklyn Nets 2 to 2, and are looking like a completely different team to the one we saw in the first two games of the series. Giannis Antetokounmpo has been dominant and the Bucks surrounding cast is lifting to ensure they remain on top, with some huge performances coming from the likes of PJ Tucker, Jrue Holiday etc. in the recent days. With the Brooklyn Nets down 2 superstar players, things are looking a bit concerning for them, especially considering how well the Bucks have adjusted since returning back to Milwaukee. So, should Nets fans be worried? Why the Houston Rockets Have Found a Future Star in Jae'Sean Tate
The Houston Rockets future is looking bleak at this point it’s fair to say. They’ve ended up trading James Harden for a bunch of draft swaps, 20 games of Victor Oladipo, Kelly Olynyk and Avery Bradley when they could have landed Ben Simmons plus other assets instead, so it’s fair to say many fans, including myself, aren’t very happy with where the team is at. However, there are some bright spots for the Rockets as they nose-dive into a rebuild, such as guys like Christian Wood, Kevin Porter Jr and KJ Martin all breaking out in their larger roles. However, the guy I want to shine a light on today is the Rockets 25-year-old undrafted rookie from the Australian NBL, JaeSean Tate, who has been everything Houston could’ve asked for and more in his short stint with the team thus far.
