Ryan Poehling scored the team's only goal, and Samuel Montembeault did his best to keep the final score in check. The loss leaves the Canadiens 31st in the NHL, behind the Arizona Coyotes and second only to the Seattle Krakens with eight games remaining in the 2021-22 season. In the absence of Matt Drake, the office and its inconsistencies were again the subject of the bottom six minutes. Toronto Maple Leafs vs Washington Capitals - Game 74 Preview, Likely Lineups & TV Info

#TorontoMaple #Leafsvs #WashingtonCapitals #Game After a poor performance against the Sabres on Tuesday, the Maple Leafs will get back on track tonight when they host the Washington Capitals at Scotiabank Arena. The Toronto Maple Leafs' duality never ceases to amaze as they continue to outlast most high-end opponents in hockey in a 5-2 loss to the Buffalo Sabres after a poor season. From the outset, the Leafs lacked the intensity needed to compete with teams that fell far short of the talent level on paper, perpetuating their habit of downplaying underdog rivals. In the Atlantic Division, Toronto leads the playoffs with a .667 winning percentage. However, they also have the worst winning percentage of a non-playoff team in the group behind all opponents. Maybe that's just what Toronto needs tonight against Washington against a team that currently has a place in the playoffs -- the 2018 Stanley Cup champions. The Capitals are on an impressive four-game winning streak, beating Tampa Bay, Pittsburgh and Boston before beating Philadelphia 9-2 on Tuesday. The Capitals are also looking to extend a five-game winning streak that dates back to mid-March. A win in Toronto would make it a six-win streak, which would be their longest streak of the season and surpass a separate five-game streak from Jan. 28 to Feb. 17. Washington has remained 12-4-2 since the start of the new year. Washington currently leads the Islanders by 15 points at the last wild-card spot in the East. They are also just three points behind the third-place Penguins in the Mets Division in two games. As with every other playoff team in the East, playoff eligibility is all but certain. Less certain is where they will end up in the standings and where their opponents will be in the first round. That certainly applies to the Maple Leafs, as their second-place spot in the Atlantic isn't guaranteed. Fortunately, they still have a four-point lead over Tampa Bay and a five-point lead over Boston, as all three teams lost Tuesday's regular season. All three have played all 73 games so far, with home ice losing to Toronto in the first round at this point. Sheldon Keefe is back despite throwing all his lines in a blender on Tuesday

The Flyers are 9-21 in their last 30 home games and 15-43 in their last 58. Under in the Rangers' final 5 is 3-1-1. In Flyer's last 10 games, the aggregate score is 7-3. The favorite is 16-7 in the last 23 games. The New York Rangers are by far the more trusted team here, and they've been great on the road lately. The Philadelphia Flyers have looked like a countdown team for quite some time, and things don't usually get better. I can only show the wanderers here, I will take the PL to pull the price down. Vladimir Guerrero Jr. Three home runs Toronto Blue Jays New York Yankees
Vladimir Guerrero Jr. Three home runs Toronto Blue Jays New York Yankees

#VladimirGuerrero #Jrthree #homeruns #TorontoBlue NEW YORK — Vladimir Guerrero Jr. shrugged off a bloody wound on his right ring finger to hit three home runs, including two from ace Gerrit Cole, against the Yankees. The Toronto Blue Jays beat New York 6-4 on Wednesday night. George Springer hit a tied single in the seventh, Toronto held off the Yankees despite homers from Anthony Rizzo, Aaron Judge and Gleb Torres, and in the eighth , Flanker Giancarlo Stanton was stuck in the warning lane. Guerrero played an important role in this. The AL MVP runner-up hit Cole for a home run in the first inning, accidentally hit first base in the second, then drove a two-run save on Cole in the third to save Toronto to a 3-0 lead. He doubled for Cole in the sixth -- prompting the pitcher to put on a show for the 23-year-old by flipping -- and then launched a 443-foot lead homer against Jonathan Loisiga in the eighth Hit to lead 5-3. It was Guerrero's second career triple and hit a career-high on April 27 against Washington. He was already on deck when teammate Bobby Chet entered the finals in ninth place, giving him no chance of hitting a major league record of four home runs in a single game. Guerrero leads the majors with four homers in six games after leading the majors with 48 homers last season. Jordan Romano was ninth in his fourth saves of the season. He has converted 27 chances in a row. Even he got help from Guerrero -- in the final, with a sharp inside glove from Josh Donaldson on his left hand. Blue Jays outfielder Tesco Hernandez left the field in pain and discomfort on the left wing after a sixth-round exit. Guerrero appeared to have to play in the second inning when base runner Aaron Hicks stepped on his bare thrower. Guerrero had to go over his body to catch Bichette's pitch and put his right hand behind the first basebag for balance. Hicks stepped on it and threw an infield single. The fourth-year major leaguer immediately started waving, then walked toward the Toronto dugout, spattering blood on his uniform and lawn. In a show of tenacity sure to please Toronto hockey fans, Guerrero put a piece of coaching tape on his wound, and he jogged back to first base a few minutes later. With a bloodstain on the right thigh of his pants, he hit the top of the 3-pointer again, turning Cole's 98-mile fastball into a 427-foot, two-barrel hom

The only nervousness is whether Conor McDavey will get a point or two to boost his championship lead. He didn't make it in the end, but Leon Dresser scored a goal. The Oilers had 6 A-level shots and 12 in the field, and Edmonton had just 3 Alert 5s and 9 in the field. Connor McDavid, 5 years old. Work hard, but can't move a single point or move too much on offense. He got his chance late in the first round, Edmonton's first A-level shot of the game, Bouchard's outside shot. He set up Draisailt for the Executioner's Shot late in the second inning, but Cam Talbot stopped him. He has only one assist in three games against the Wild this year. 3 The following story continues. This hasn't loaded yet, but your article continues below. Article Content Jesse Puljujarvi, 3. His worst game of the year? perhaps. Maybe he's not feeling well because he's missed a workout recently because of an illness. Two goals conceded, a major culprit, very little attacking. He allowed a slot pass in the first minute of the game, triggering Wild's first A-level shooting sequence. He was nowhere to be found when the puck appeared on the backboard next to him, leading to Wild's third goal. He was knocked down the top line and replaced by Cassian in the second quarter. Moments later, he was caught in a cricket fight, and he was one of three Oilers to lose that particular fight in "Sequence of Pain" as he scored Wild's fourth goal. Evander Kane, 5 years old. Quiet game save for a nasty board hit on Joel Eriksson Ek in Garbage Time late in the third quarter. It was supposed to be a penalty, but I didn't mind because at least it was a sign of the struggles of the struggling Oilers. After a while, Kane

Brooklyn Nets beat Cleveland Cavaliers
Brooklyn Nets beat Cleveland Cavaliers

#BrooklynNets #defeatCleveland #Cavaliersplayin #brooklynnets NEW YORK -- Kyrie Irving had 34 points and 12 assists and Kevin Durant had 25 points and 11 assists as the Brooklyn Nets beat the Cleveland Cavaliers 115-108 on Tuesday night for the Eastern Conference No. 7 seed. in a bottle opener. The Nets led by 20 points after a quarter and kept sending the Cavaliers away in the series that started Sunday to win their matchup against second-placed Boston. Irving made his first 12 shots before a corner 3-pointer in the fourth quarter. He finished the game on 12-for-15 shooting. A preseason NBA Finals favorite, stuttering through a tumultuous season and finishing 10th in the final week of the regular season, the Nets are on a five-game winning streak. For Durant and Irving, they're far more dangerous than the usual No. 7. Both are willing to pass the ball to teammates who can take advantage of them when they get the ball. Bruce Brown had 18 points, nine rebounds and eight assists, while Andre Drummond had 16. Darius Garland scored 34 points for the Cavaliers, who still have a chance at No. 8. They will host the winner of the Atlanta-Charlotte game on Friday, with the winner taking on No. 1 Miami. Brooklyn and Cleveland both went 44-38, but the Nets sealed the Game 7 by beating the Cavaliers 3-1 at Barclays Center on Friday. Cleveland has the confidence to go back to Brooklyn and win, although it quickly realizes how difficult that will be. The Nets shot almost 71 percent from the field in the first quarter -- Irving and Durant made eight combined -- and ended the quarter with a 15-3 spurt to make it 40- 20. That's bigger than Brooklyn's lead in the first quarter of the regular season. The offense was on and off as usual, Durant started Game 2 off the bench, and Cleveland was 9-2 down to 13 points. The lead remained there for the remainder of the half, with the Cavaliers missing a series of open chances before Irving's buzzer-beater to make it 57-43. He led 9-9 at the break. The Cavaliers tried to extend a surprising season in which they doubled their win total from last season, and they continued to excel in the second half. But they often miss an open 3-pointer or give up extra possession on an offensive rebound that the Nets could exploit. Nick Clarkston had 13 points and nine rebounds for Brooklyn. Prompt plugin Cavaliers: Evan Mobley scored 19 points,

CanucksArmy Post Game: Vintage Pettersson takes over as Canucks beat Golden Knights in overtime

#CanucksArmypost #game #VintagePettersson #takesCanucks This marks the return of Mark Stone to the Vegas Golden Knights. Is it cloudy, rainy, snowy hail? A chaotic day followed by a variety of weather events in Vancouver in the hours leading up to it. The Canucks again forced fans to believe in the playoffs, and the win over the Golden Knights certainly kept some hope alive, even if it wasn't a regular-season win. That's how the Canucks line up in this game. - Continue reading below forward message Brock Boeser and Tanner Pearson were sidelined with upper body injuries, while Thatcher Demko started with Robin Lehner across from him. Let's do it! the first lesson The game started with a bang after Elias Pettersson bailed out a pass from the Vancouver end for Bo Horvat. - Continue reading below The Canucks captain stormed into the Vegas end, protected the puck, and after a quick thump, lured the Vegas guard into a trip. You guys know what that means, guys. Then Max Pacioretty accepted the unsportsmanlike penalty and sent the Canucks straight back to the men's advantage. Normally, Pettersson did something to wow the Rogers Arena loyalists, but the Canucks ultimately failed to convert. - Continue reading below The Canucks are clearly the better team in the first ten minutes, which is usually half of this team. The Canucks were benched with too many people on the ice after officials determined that Brad Hunt switched lanes a bit early. As if they were a bunch of Vancouverites who didn't know whether to wear sunglasses, skis, rain boots, or if they had removed their winter tires -- the Golden Knights struggled to even carry on Man Advantage. Demko made one of the best saves of the season against Jake Eicher, putting his body directly in front of the goal when the Canucks goalie shoved his post hard. Back to even force, a strange shot came to Demko after a seemingly innocent shot was ejected from behind Alec Martinez and f

Ryan Hartman fined for knocking down Edmonton Oilers Evan de Kane

#RyanHartman #finedflipping #EdmontonOilers #EvanderKane Minnesota Wild forward Ryan Hartman was fined $4,250 for unsportsmanlike conduct after he knocked down Edmonton Oilers wing Evan de Kane in Tuesday's 5-1 win over the Oilers. When the two were escorted off the ice by officers after an argument, Hartman turned Kane away. The 27-year-old, whose contract expires in 2023-24 and is capped at $1.7 million, said after the game that any fines for the conduct were "worth it." Ryan Hartman of Minnesota was fined $4,250, the maximum amount allowed by the CBA, for unsportsmanlike conduct during last night's game against Edmonton. - NHL Player Safety April 13, 2022 Both Kane and Hartman were given 10 minutes of misconduct, and in addition to the rough minor, Kane was given an additional cross-check of the minor with less than 10 minutes remaining on Tuesday. The incident started with Kane checking on Kirill Kapritsov after his encounter with off-ball Keller Yamamoto at the wild blue line. Several Wild members pounced on Kane, who exchanged jabs with the players in the scrum. Hartman jumps on Kane when he gets engaged to Matszucarello. The pair then attempted to throw punches before being restrained by the linesman before being separated. "He shot Kirill from the back in a very vulnerable spot," Hartman said of Kane. "It turns out we had five people there. They had no one there to help him." After the police had already intervened, Kane had his own reaction to the Hartman intervention. "All five guys used it, they couldn't trip me up," Kane said. "With that said, I definitely want to get out of that shackles. "These little guys, they want to play hard, but they wait for the linesman to come in. The Wilds and Oilers won't meet again this season, and as of this writing, they may not meet again until the Western Conference finals.
