Preds open season with 3-1 victory
The Nashville Predators opened up their season with a 3-1 win at home over the Columbus Blue Jackets. Three new faces to the club found the scoresheet: A goal from Luke Kunin and an assist each for Erik Haula and Brad Richardson. Justin B. Granlund ties it late, scores in OT to propel Preds to victory
The Calgary Flames scored with 43 seconds remaining in regulation to give them a 3-2 lead, but it wasn't enough as Mikael Granlund scored the tying goal with just .1 seconds remaining on the clock to send it to overtime. Then, 1:20 into overtime, Granlund scored the game-winning goal, giving the Nashville Predators a 4-3 victory. Colin Blackwell had two assists in the game giving him five points in four games. Roman Josi scored his first goal since December, and Ryan Ellis also notched two assists. Preds even series off Smith's overtime winner
The Nashville Predators won Game Two in overtime to tie the series with the Dallas Stars at 1-1. Successful penalty kill in second provided momentum shift in Preds 4-1 win over Vegas
The Nashville Predators allowed a power play goal in the first period, but then shut the Vegas Golden Knights down from the second period on. Ryan Hartman scored two goals, both assisted by Kevin Fiala. Calle Jarnkrok notched the security goal, and Viktor Arvidsson was awarded an empty net goal when he drew a penalty shot against an empty net. Colton Sissons played a tremendous role in penalty killing Tuesday night. The penalty kill in the second period helped spurn a momentum shift for the team according to head coach Peter Laviolette. Forsberg scores three, but Preds unable to defeat Edmonton
Filip Forsberg notched his sixth career hat trick Saturday after against the Edmonton Oilers. Unfortunately for Nashville, those were the only three goals scored for the team as they fell 5-3 to Edmonton. This was their first loss to the Oilers since the 2013-14 season. Each team took six penalties with Nashville converting on two power plays and Edmonton on one. Leon Draisaitl and Drake Caggiula each scored twice for Edmonton.
