The question of the season for the Memphis Grizzlies has been are they a true championship contender with a rising superstar in Ja Morant, however Memphis is an insane 18 and 2 when their best player doesn’t play. Are the grizzlies actually better without him or do they play more as team? Let’s see how they destroyed the Warriors.
Last night with a potential finals matchup against the Milwaukee Bucks, Klay Thompson scored the most points he’s scored in three years as the Dubs won a convincing home game. Jordan Poole continued his hot streak, and I wanted to break down how these two guards combined for 13 three pointers got hot from beyond the arc. It was amazing to see the best Klay Thompson heat check we’ve seen in almost three years as you could hear the excited Chase Center go wild after every shot he let loose. Jordan Poole is a future all-star in the making and he’s stayed really consistent the last several games with his playmaking and skillset. Let’s get to the breakdown.
Now I don’t want to overreact since Denver was on the second end of a back-to-back, but last nights win was crucial considering the last couple of weeks. Stephen Curry led the Warriors with 34 points, with 18 points in the third quarter by himself, winning this battle of former MVPs. Curry and the Dubs gave us a vintage 3rd quarter performance and I want to break down how the Warriors came back from a double digit deficit.
The Golden State Warriors choked against a severely undermanned Indiana Pacers team on the second end of a back-to-back without Caris Levert, Domantis Sabonis, Malcolm Brogdon, or Myles Turner. This might be the worst loss of the season but I wanted to put some respect on the Pacers' second tier players, especially rookie Chris Duarte. First they take out the Los Angeles Lakers, then Chris Duarte drops 27 points on the Dubs with some clutch buckets. I wanted to breakdown how he got his points and his clutch plays in the 4th quarter and overtime.
The Golden State Warriors come back from a road trip to face the lowley Detroit Pistons, which became probably the easiest win of the year. The Splash Bros put on a show in the first half and it was great to see Klay share the ball so well and is still confident enough to shoot the shots that we know he’s capable of making. Now it’s just more about getting in rhythm and waiting for Draymond to come back fully healthy and complete the trio. I wanted to break down how the Splash Bros got their buckets and some nice assists as the Steph and Klay pretty much ended the game by halftime. Leave a come and like and subscribe!
