A Tale of 3 Pitchers and a Hot-Cold-Hot Offense in the Series Win Over the Blue Jays Eric and Brett discuss the 3 games series in Buffalo New York versus the Blue Jays. It was the Zack Greinke show in Friday's game as the offense explodes for 13 runs on 16 hits. The good times did not continue to roll Saturday as Jose Urquidy threw too many strikes, I didn't know that was a thing, and the offense took the day off. However, thanks to Jose Altuve's leadoff home on Sunday and another gem buy Luis Garcia, the Astros get another series win. Listen to the Locked On Astros podcast live and interact with the hosts. Eric and Brett discuss the game that was with Jake Odorizzi on the mound and the Red Sox offense comes alive. Nothing much went right for the Astros as Martin Perez dominated H-Town's lineup until the ninth inning when Yuli Gurriel hit a shutout breaking solo blast, but the Astros fall 5-1. The Astros still win 3 of 4 versus Boston and finish 5-4 on the homestand versus some tough competition. Kent Emanuel is unfortunately out for the season and MLB is gonna be cracking down on the foreign substances for pitchers. Eric and Brett discuss everything that went right in the Astros win in Game two as Rafael Devers continues to struggle. Kyle Tucker continues to surge and Yuli Gurriel and Yordan Alvarez make a return to the lineup at the right time. The bullpen comes in and gets the job done once again. Dusty Baker says that Luis Garcia is a big-league pitcher, meaning he is likely to stay on the roster when everyone returns. Listen to the Locked On Astros podcast live.
Eric and Brett discuss everything that went right in the Astros blowout over the Red Sox in this Locked On Astros podcast. Jose Urquidy made his return to the mound and the Boston hitters were making some weird swings and misses like they weren't seeing the ball. The offense got started early, with a bunch of singles and the shortest homer in Jose Altuve's career. Join the discussion live.
Eric and Brett are contractually obligated to discuss this disaster of a game. Just kidding, we don't mind discussing how the offense falls asleep against Clayton Kershaw, Zack Greinke falls apart after the great start, and the bullpen has a walking issue apparently. In the biggest game of the year, the Astros fall apart as Dodgers fans take over the streets of Houston and the stadium. This was very well orchestrated.
Eric and Brett discuss what went right and wrong for the Astros in the series versus the Rays including the great starting pitching in the first two games. The offense showed up as well, but the third game was a little ugly. Listen to the Locked On Astros podcast.
