Middlesbrough v Sunderland 1993 Pre-Season Friendly GARY HAMILTON TESTIMONIAL
Middlesbrough v Sunderland 1993 Pre-Season Friendly GARY HAMILTON TESTIMONIAL

Pre-season 1993, Middlesbrough play Sunderland at Ayresome Park in Gary Hamiltons testimonial game. Sunderland win 2-1 with goals from Lee Howey & Don Goodman with Paul Wilkinson replying for Boro. There was a bit of chew near half time as some Sunderland fans tried to escape from the away end and claim asylum in The Boro. Luckily, The Police & some hi-vis jacket wearing gentlemen were on hand to sit on them until until they could be coaxed back into their enclosure with wooden football rattles, Toffos and other things to remind them of the early 1970

Nuneaton Borough v Middlesbrough 2005-06 Cup R3 MENDIETA MARTIN REEVES LEGEND
Nuneaton Borough v Middlesbrough 2005-06 Cup R3 MENDIETA MARTIN REEVES LEGEND

2005-06 Cup Round 3 game and Nuneaton Borough of the Conference Northern Division host Premier League Middlesbrough. Being a good bet for an upset, there are almost as many members of the national media in the ground as there are supporters and they almost got their story. Middlesbrough took the lead in the 15th minute with a free kick by Gaizka Mendieta who I dare say has scored in a lot more salubrious surroundings than Manor Park and were looking good for a place in the R4. However just as in the previous game against Newcastle, Boro conceded a goal in the last minute. Gareth Southgate was judged to have handled the ball and Gez Murphy scored from the penalty spot to give The Other Boro a replay at The Riverside and the gentlemen of the press something to chew on but not as much as they'd anticipated.

Middlesbrough v Skoda Xanthi 2005-06 UEFA Cup 1st Round 1st Leg EMERSON RETURNS

15th September 2005 sees the return of Emerson and his not-as-good-as-nine-years-earlier-hair to The Riverside, playing for Greek side Skoda Xanthi in this 1st round 1st leg UEFA Cup tie. Boro won 2-0 with goals from George Boateng and Mark Viduka.
