Kyrie Irving - Lefty Wonder 17/18
Kyrie Irving - Lefty Wonder 17/18

Kyrie Irving. NBA Champion. 6x NBA All-Star. 2014 All-Star Game Most Valuable Player. 2019 All-NBA Second Team. 2015 All-NBA Third Team. Rookie of the Year 2012. FIBA World Cup MVP 2014. 2x USA Basketball Gold Medalist (2016 Rio Olympics, 2014 Spain Basketball World Championships). Kyrie is the most fearsome finisher in the NBA today. His handle is arguably the best in the league. He really does have relentless range, and his creativity and ability off the bounce make him one of the world’s greatest at getting you a bucket (any kind of bucket), whatever the defense, whatever the situation. Add to that his fearlessness, ferocity, and the force and finesse with which he can finish, and you have the foundation for one of the most explosive offensive player in the league. Throw in easily the most outstanding off-hand in the game, and you’d be hard pressed to find a way to stop him. Irving finished his final season in Boston in the top 15 in scoring (23.8 points per game), steals (1.5 per game), Player Efficiency Rating (12th, just behind Stephen Curry and above the likes of Kevin Durant, Damian Lillard, and Paul George), and finished in the top 10 in the stat Value Over Replacement Player (ahead of LeBron James, Russell Westbrook, Blake Griffin, Kemba Walker, Ben Simmons, and Joel Embiid). His final stretch left a sour taste in the mouths of most Celtics fans, but at the end of the day, he is still as dangerous and as dynamic a scorer that the league has ever seen. This was made with one thing in mind: a way to appreciate Kyrie but connect him with the late great Kobe Bryant. When you talk about Mamba Mentality, Kyrie and Kobe were two peas in a pod. In an interview with Sirius XM, Kobe Bryant talked about how he was most connected with Kyrie (link below): Bryant recalled the time Irving called Bryant via FaceTime after the Cleveland Cavaliers overcame a 3-1 deficit and won the 2016 NBA Finals in Game 7 against the Warriors. He was sitting on the couch with Gianna when his phone rang. “Kyrie’s in the locker room celebrating on Facetime like, ‘Dude, it worked! Your advice worked!,’” Bryant said. “I was really, really proud of him. So I’d say Kyrie is the one I’m closest to.” Also, for all the flack Kyrie is getting for taking a stand in the face of the social justice issues, I believe he's in the right and I hope people start seeing that. LeBron James - Scintillating Scorer 17/18 (Finishing)
LeBron James - Scintillating Scorer 17/18 (Finishing)

LeBron James. 3x NBA Champion. 3x NBA Finals MVP. 4x NBA Most Valuable Player. 16x NBA All-Star. 3x All-Star Game MVP. 12x All-NBA First Team. 2x All-NBA Second Team. 2019 All-NBA Third Team. 5x All-Defensive First Team. 2014 All-Defensive Second Team. 2004 NBA Rookie of the Year. 2008 NBA Scoring Champion. 2012 Defensive Player of the Year Runner-Up. 8 STRAIGHT NBA Finals Appearances. 2x Olympic Gold Medalist (Beijing 2008, London 2012). Along with a whole host of other accolades, LeBron will always be known as the man who lifted the curse in Cleveland. The Cavaliers became the first team in NBA history to come back from a 3-1 deficit, ending a 52 year title drought. In 2016, LeBron became the first player in NBA history to lead his team in points, rebounds, assists, blocks and steals in a playoff series. James joined Jerry West and James Worthy as the only players to record a triple-double in Game 7 of the NBA Finals. In 2017, he became the league’s ALL-TIME leading playoff scoring leader, and was the first to average a triple-double in the Finals. He currently (at the time of the release of this video in July of 2020) sits 3rd on the NBA's All-Time Scoring List (though it should be noted that he didn't at the time of most of these clips). There's not really much more that needs to be said, but this was one of those projects I put way on the back-burner, so I thought I'd finally just release it. REGULAR SEASON HIGHLIGHTS ONLY ON THIS ONE. This one is more about his finishing, if you want to see the companion video that's more focused on his moves, I've got that link for you right here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qKibt8YSVN4 Shoutout to as always to the GOAT @FreeDawkins

JR Smith to LeBron James
JR Smith to LeBron James

Is there really anything that needs to be said about JR Smith and LeBron James that hasn’t been said already? They were together for just under 4 seasons and made 4 straight NBA Finals. By the time LeBron had left for the Lakers, JR was one of only 3 Cavaliers (the other two being Tristan Thompson and Kevin Love) left on the squad from their 2014-15 Finals run. Many will point to the infamous moment in Game 1 of the 2018 Finals, but I would like to point out that George Hill missed that free throw and JR made a great play by outrebounding the man who would win his second consecutive Finals MVP in Kevin Durant (who also just happens to be 7 feet tall)…yes, what happened next was unfortunate, but many forget everything else before that moment. Many forget that the Cavs were 19-16 before trading for JR (and Iman Shumpert). For 4 years, his shooting and ability to make plays made him an effective member of team, especially in crunch time. JR won’t be remembered for his defense, but he was active and spry and his athleticism helped make up for lapses. There are two things that people seem to forget the most about JR Smith in the Finals: that he was the team’s third leading scorer in Game 7 against the team with the greatest regular season record of all-time (and he scored 8 of his 12 points in the second half) AND the greatest play of LeBron’s career, the BLOCK, is one he credits to JR (link below) "I always tell J.R. and Shump and Kyrie and all our guards, if you see me running, if you can just make the offensive player just change his momentum just a little bit, it’ll give me enough time to track it. It’ll give me enough time to track it down. Buy me a second. If you look at the play, J.R. swung over top, and Iguodala had to scrunch just a little bit instead of going up and jamming. And he had to scrunch just a little bit, and that gave me the split second to either – and I was ready." https://www.cbssports.com/nba/news/lebron-james-credits-j-r-smith-for-his-block-on-andre-iguodala/ If you'd like to donate: Venmo - @Evin_Gual Cash App - $EvinGual Patreon - https://www.patreon.com/evin_gual As you can see from the watermarks, these are older so as always, it's a chance the shoutout THE GREATEST highlight account of all time Dawk Ins. @FreeDawkins @SQUADawkins. Kawhi Leonard - Fantastic Finisher 18/19
Kawhi Leonard - Fantastic Finisher 18/19

Kawhi Leonard. 2x NBA Champion. 2x NBA Finals MVP. 4x NBA All-Star. 2020 All-Star Game MVP. 2x All-NBA First Team. 2019 All-NBA Second Team. 2x Defensive Player of the Year. 3x All-Defensive First Team. 2x All-Defensive Second Team. Only the THIRD player to win Finals MVP with two different teams (LeBron James and Kareem Abdul-Jabbar). His playoff run was legendary, not only because he brought an NBA championship outside of the United States for the first time in history, but because he had the third greatest single postseason scoring run in the league (link below): Kawhi scored 732 points, LeBron James in 2018 scored 748, while Michael Jordan in 1992 had an unreal 759. Anyway, let’s not mince words here: there are so many Kawhi-lights and multiple different parts of his game on BOTH sides of the ball that I decided this would be a nice little piece to an expansive puzzle. Let’s start from the ground up: Kawhi’s footwork is fantastic, his balance is brilliant, his ability to decelerate is dangerous, and he is so strong that it is STUNNING how guys just bounce off of him. Whether he creates or absorbs contact, he is almost always the winner. Whether he uses force or finesse, he’s a phenomenal finisher. Zach Lowe notes in his article (link below): “He is one of two players to have logged at least 1,000 career postseason minutes and shot at least 50% overall and 40% from 3-point range. (Al Horford is the other, at much lower long-range volume.)” He scored at a career-high 26.6 points per game this past season (good for 6th in the league) and upped that to 30.5 points per game in the postseason. All that is to say that he can score in any kind of way. This video is focused on his FINISHING. He was the second leading scorer in the playoffs (just behind James Harden’s 31.6 points per game through 11 games) and the second most efficient player (behind Nikola Jokic), and if you watched the playoffs, you’d know that he looked Michael and Kobe-esque, not just with his ability to just will his team to victory, but also with the array of shots he was taking. Try to chase him off the line? Easy one dribble pullup. Switch a smaller or weaker player onto him? He’s punishing them in the post. Throw a big on him? He’s already around or THROUGH him. It’s not easy to say overpower the likes of Draymond Green and Andrew Bogut, but on possession in the NBA Finals, he powered through both of them for an AND1. It was in that moment that I decided his finishing needed it’s own video…granted, it took me long enough to make it, but I had my heart set on it and here it is. https://www.espn.in/nba/story/_/id/26923847/what-kawhi-raptors-done-warriors https://www.espn.com/nba/recap?gameId=401134820 If you'd like to donate: Venmo - @Evin_Gual Cash App - $EvinGual Patreon - https://www.patreon.com/evin_gual Special shouts to probably the greatest highlight account of all time Dawk Ins Via @FreeDawkins @SQUADawkins @VintageDawkins
