The Atlanta Braves took on the Cincinnati Reds in Game 1 of the Wildcard Series. And with Max Fried and Trevor Bauer on the mound, you knew it would be a duel. But, to the extreme of being scoreless headed into the 13th inning? No chance anyone predicted this one. But, as so many times before Freddie Freeman came in clutch with a base hit to walk it off! Braves vs Red Sox (9/25) Recap: Acuña Homers 495 ft / Freddie Walks It Off
The Braves took on the Red Sox in a tuneup game, and the offense wasn't slow at all. Ronald Acuña took to the Red Sox early, his 17th leadoff homer. And, it was a blast. 495 feet, the longest one this season for all of MLB. But, he wouldn't be alone. Freddie Freeman would come off the bench in the bottom of the 11th inning, and he would hit a 2-run blast to win the ballgame at home! The Braves have already clinched the division, and their postseason spot, so now it's just a matter of keeping momentum. Bryse Wilson got the start versus Miami, and he was outstanding on the mound considering the circumstances. But he didn't go in alone. The offense, led by Marcell Ozuna put 11 runs on the board to put the Marlins away. Ozuna, by the way, had 2 homers in this game. He now leads the National League.
