On the road in Atlanta, Clemson came away with a convincing 81-57 win over the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets. The Tigers were red-hot from three-point range, shooting 14-28 from deep as a team in the win. Four players scored in double figures for Brad Brownell's club, led by Ian Schieffelin's 19 points on 8-12 shooting and 3-4 shooting from three. Chase Hunter added 18 points on 4-6 shooting from deep to go along with 6 rebounds and 6 assists. Kyle Sturdivant paced the Jackets with 14 points in the loss.
In Louisville, Notre Dame earned a convincing 72-50 win over the Louisville Cardinals. Braeden Shrewsberry led the Irish with 23 points on 8-13 shooting, including 7-11 from three-point range. Markus Burton was big as Notre Dame pulled away in the 2nd half, scoring 10 of his 16 points after the break. Skyy Clark led the Cards with 18 points on 7-8 shooting in the loss.
The #19 Flighting Irish picked up another quality road win by defeating the Blue Devils, 70-62. At halftime, Duke held a three-point lead, but then Notre Dame came out and rocked the Blue Devils in the third quarter, 21-9. Hannah Hidalgo led the way with 23 points, six rebounds, four assists, and four steals. Maddy Westbeld had 14 points and nine rebounds. Sonia Citron added 12 points. For Duke, Reigan Richardson had 23 points to lead the Blue Devils. Jayden Donovan added 10 points and eight rebounds.
For the fifth time in a row, the Hokies took down the Cavaliers in Cassell Coliseum, winning 75-41. The Hokies shot 50.9% against a stingy Virginia defense and turned 12 UVA turnovers into 24 points. Lynn Kidd led the Hokies with 14 points on 5-5 shooting and seven rebounds. Robbie Beran was also perfect shooting the ball, going 4-4 from the field, with 2 three-pointers, and 3-3 from the free throw line for 13 points. Tyler Nickel added 13 points, six assists, and four rebounds. For Virginia, Isaac McKneely was the leading scorer with 11 points.
In an action-packed thriller, the Syracuse Orange outlasted the NC State Wolfpack, 87-83 in Raleigh. Chris Bell got things started for the Orange, knocking down his first eight 3-point attempts on his way to 26 first half points. The Wolfpack adjusted and shut Bell down in the 2nd half, rallying from a 15-point deficit to take the lead in the final minutes. DJ Horne was spectacular, scoring a game-high 32 points on 11-20 shooting from the floor, including 6-8 from three-point range. Syracuse's Quadir Copeland scored a career-high 25 points while making some spectacular plays and Judah Mintz scored all 13 of his points after the break to help the Orange to the win.
The Panthers dominated the second half against the Cardinals to get the 86-59 victory. Pitt led 37-27 at halftime, but the story of the first half was that Blake Hinson scored 27 of those 37 points. Hinson finished the game with a career-high 41 points on 14-24 shooting, including 8-13 from three-point range. It's the most points scored by a Pitt player since the 1957-58 season. Jaland Lowe had 10 points, five assists, four rebounds, and two steals. For Louisville, Tre White had a double-double with 16 points and 11 rebounds. Kaleb Glenn added 17 points.
The No. 7 North Carolina Tar Heels got a much-needed 96-81 win over the Virginia Tech Hokies at home. Harrison Ingram got the Heels off to a good start, scoring 11 of his 12 points in the first 20 minutes while Armando Bacot took over in the 2nd half for Hubert Davis' club, scoring 19 of his 25 points after the break on 11-16 shooting to go along with 11 rebounds. RJ Davis added 20 points for the Heels and MJ Collins scored 18 points to lead the Hokies in a losing effort.
The Yellow Jackets tested the #6 Wolfpack, but in the end, NC State was able to pull out an 86-85 win in overtime. Kara Dunn hit a three-pointer in the closing seconds of regulation to force overtime, but Georgia Tech could not hit a shot in the closing seconds of overtime that would have won the game. NC State's Aziah James led the Wolfpack with 30 points on 11-20 shooting with seven rebounds, three steals, and two assists. River Baldwin had 16 points and six rebounds. Madison Hayes had a double-double with 15 points and 11 rebounds. For Georgia Tech, Kara Dunn had a game-high 31 points, made seven three-pointers, and grabbed six rebounds. Tonie Morgan added 23 points, 11 assists, 6 rebounds, and four steals.
