Cambodia national football team

The Cambodia national football team , nicknamed the Angkor Warriors or Kouprey Kampuchea, represents Cambodia in international football and is controlled by the Football Federation of Cambodia (FFC) which is part of the Asian Football Confederation and sub-confederation AFF. Known as the Khmer Republic national football team from 1970 to 1975, the team finished fourth in the 1972 Asian Cup, which still remains as Cambodia's greatest achievement in an international competition. The team was founded in 1933 and joined FIFA's ranks in 1953.

The war began with the repeated attacks by Khmer Rouge Army on the southwestern border of Vietnam, with the defining moment of Ba Chuc massacre, resulting in the deaths of over 3000 Vietnamese civilians.
