Charleston White on Brother Saying He Wanted to Kill as a Kid, Ended Up Getting 99 Years (Part 1)
Charleston White came through for his first-ever VladTV interview, and he started out by detailing his upbringing in Fort Worth, Texas. He explained that he was raised by his single mother, along with his older brother. Charleston then stated that their lives dramatically changed when their mother went to work at GM, which he says took them "from rags to riches." Moving along, Charleston shared a story about his brother telling him that he was going to kill someone when he grows up, and he's now serving a 99-year sentence for murder. The Last Dance Episode 3 Recap (30 for 30 Michael Jordan Documentary)
ESPN aired episodes 3 and 4 of ‘The Last Dance’ on April 26, 2020 and this second Sunday was must-watch television once again. This is the recap for episode 3. After setting the stage for the documentary and getting us the first look at Jordan with the Bulls as well as the start to the final season, the show moved to more of the personalities and characters in this story. Dennis Rodman was a large focus for both of these episodes, from his upbringing to college to his NBA start. Getting to see ‘normal’ Rodman prepares you for the shift he takes at the beginning of the 90s when he joins the Bulls. We also see the start of the Doug Collins era in Chicago, which turns out to be really successful as he and Jordan get along really well. But it wasn’t good enough for Jerry Krause and the Bulls organization so they move on to Phil Jackson after the Bulls lost in the Eastern Conference finals to the Detroit Pistons for the first time. Speaking of Detroit, the world gets to meet the Bad Boys. When you think back to the NBA in the 80s, this Pistons team captures the physical, aggressive, do-what-it-takes defensive style that the league became known for. Led by Bill Laimbeer, Dennis Rodman, and Isaiah Thomas, this team stood in between the Bulls taking the next step and becoming world champions. We find out just how much of an impact that had on Jordan this franchise. Ballon d'Or holder Ronaldo has admitted that his remarkable rise up the standard was in doubt as a youngster when he was touted as not being big enough to make it. Ronaldo scored an unprecedented 66 goals in all competitions during last season for Real Madrid as he became the first man to claim the world player of the year award off Messi for the first time in three years. In an inspirational video with Nike, Ronaldo opened up about his upbringing and the work that he had to put in to become one of the most recognisable footballers on the planet. He said: "You have to work so hard, I do this every day. This is why I have been at the top level for many, many years. "It's not by coincidence. I do so much extra work outside of the pitch. When I was 12 years old most of the people told me 'Cristiano you are a very talented player but you are too skinny'. "So I put it in my mind that my body can improve. With dedication and hard work in the gym I improved a lot on that - at the end of the day it's down to the person's mindset." Ronaldo's career went from strength-to-strength when he made the move to Real Madrid from Manchester United - and he seemingly has continued to get bigger in size. A similar level of growth has been evident in Gareth Bale since he made the switch to La Liga. Ronaldo believes that the pace and power which he now possesses has helped him to becoming one of the world's most feared players. He added: "Athleticism also means a huge lot - these small details make a huge difference. So it's very important to do this work and it's going really well for me. "That's why I'm always in good shape all year round. I do that kind of work, because I have to, it's part of me."
