LA ROMANA. -Yunesky Maya lanzó impecable béisbol y Francisco Peña sacó la pelota del parque para que las Águilas Cibaeñas superaran 4 por 1 a los Toros del Este, empatando 2-2 la serie semifinal B de la Liga Dominicana de Béisbol en partido celebrado el miércoles en el estadio Francisco Micheli. Maya, que tenía 0-3 enfrentando a los romanenses en su parque, registró una brillante labor en la lomita, tirando cinco episodios de solo tres hits, tres boletos y cuatro ponches para llevarse su primer triunfo de esta ronda semifinal. Gregory Soto, quien tiró el noveno, se anotó su segundo salvamento de la serie. Perdió por los Toros el abridor zurdo Carlos Hernández, que laboró durante cinco capítulos. Las Águilas marcaron dos anotaciones en el segundo acto contra Hernández, cuando Isaías Tejada alcanzó la inicial por error en tiro del antesalista Jeimer Candelario. De inmediato Johan Camargo y Robel García produjeron sencillos consecutivos para llevar a Tejeda al hogar. Camargo se colocó en la antesala con el hit de García y anotó con elevado de sacrificio de Edmundo Sosa para darle ventaja 2-0 a las Águilas. David Paulino, quien reemplazó a Maya en el sexto capítulo, permitió la primera anotación de los Toros al transferir a Jeimer Candelario, quien avanzó a segunda por wild pitch y anotó con indiscutible al centro de Yermín Mercedes. Paulino otorgó base por bolas a Abraham Almonte, siendo sustituido por Luis Felipe Castillo, quien ponchó a Jorge Mateo y retiró vía 5-3 al peligroso Miguel Andújar para cerrar el episodio. Luego desfilaron por los cibaeños Rhiner Cruz (7), quien se metió en aprietos después de sacar los dos primeros outs, al permitir doble de Yasiel Puig conceder boletos seguidos a Candelario y a Peter O´Brien. En esa situación, el dirigente Félix Fermín apeló al importado Michael Tonkin, quien retiró a Mercedes con elevado al left para terminar. Gregory Soto tiró el noveno. Los Toros embasaron hombres en ocho de los nueve capítulos, pero no produjeron en los momentos apremiantes, bateando de 11-1 con hombres en posición de anotar y dejando 14 corredores en circulación. Además de Hernández, los Toros utilizaron a los lanzadores Jhan Maríñez, Steven Wilson y Fernando Rodney. Maríñez permitió una vuelta en su segunda entrada de trabajo producto del cuadrangular de Francisco Peña en el séptimo inning, para colocar el marcador 3-1 a favor de las Águilas. La última anotación cibaeña llegó en el octavo contra Wilson, fruto de sencillo después de dos outs de Rangel Ravelo. Los mejores bateadores por las Águilas fueron Juan Lagares con dos dobletes, Robel García despachó par de sencillos, Francisco Peña un cuadrangular y Johan Camargo y Ravelo un sencillo cada uno. Por los Toros, Yasiel Puig pegó doble y dos sencillos, Yermín Mercedes dos incogibles, Jeimer Candelario un doble y Miguel Andújar un sencillo.
