Prime Minister Narendra Modi is going to lay the foundation stone of Purvanchal's first international cricket stadium on September 23 in Ganjari, Banaras. The capacity of this stadium, built on 30.8 acres, is said to be around 30,000. The state government has acquired this land on which BCCI will build the stadium at a cost of Rs 330 crore. The state government has spent Rs 121 crore on land acquisition. This will be the third international cricket stadium of UP after Greenpark of Kanpur and Ekana of Lucknow. LNT will start its construction work from the last week of September. The construction work is to be completed in 30 months. The stadium will be ready by December 2025. For this, BCCI will give a fixed amount every year as lease to the state government.
