The Toronto Raptors are on the receiving end of a beat down this time against the Philadelphia 76ers. The Raptors hung in the game as long as they could before running out of gas in the 4th quarter where the 76ers' firepower was too much to handle. Simmons, Embiid, Redick, and Butler all had solid games. Kyle Lowry came back and did not look rusty (20 pts) but it was not enough as the Raptors were dominated on the glass. The Toronto Raptors come up short after making another strong comeback. Serge Ibaka called for the foul before the inbound allowed Denver to score a free throw and get the ball back with less than 10 seconds to go which sealed the game. Tough call especially in the circumstances. But the Raptors' winning streak comes to an end. Jokic with a monster triple-double (23pts, 11rebs, & 15asts) to lead the West-leading Denver Nuggets to the W. Leonard with a strong game, but the Raptors' poor 3-pt shooting led to their downfall. Too many open shots missed and poor defensive rebounding. Raptors will need to be sharp as they face off against the new-look 76ers team who have been on a roll next. The Toronto Raptors entered this game without CJ Miles and Norman Powell, but have Kawhi Leonard return from injury. Toronto has not been 100% healthy as a group in a long time and Nick Nurse has had to juggle the lineups and keep the train chugging along. The Sacramento Kings are no slouch of a team as they have the highest pace in the NBA, but are also above .500 which has not happened in a long time. The Raptors turned the ball constantly and did not shoot the 3-ball well, but their defense and rebounding kept them in the game and eventually win. Pascal Siakam has scored in double-digits in 7 straight games and is emerging in front of our eyes.
