Y es que contando todas sus lesiones, Robben estuvo de baja 4 años de los 20 de su trayectoria, limitando la Leyenda de uno de los mejores extremos de la historia. Arjen nació el 23 de enero de 1984 en la ciudad neerlandesa de Groningen donde dio sus primeros pasos como profesional. Tras salirse en las categorías inferiores debutó con 16 años en primera y se convirtió en la mayor promesa de su país. El PSV Eindhoven le fichó por 4 millones de euros y en solo 2 años se convirtió en el mejor jugador del equipo. Tras debutar con la selección holandesa el Chelsea le fichó en 2004 pero el extremo alternó grandes partidos con muchas lesiones. En sus 3 años en la Premier no pudo explotar pero el Real Madrid firmó al futbolista por 36 millones. En España pasó 2 años irregulares donde alternó lesiones con golazos pero tras un año en blanco y la llegada de Florentino Pérez se le puso en el mercado. Robben firmaba por el Bayern de Múnich donde se convertiría en una leyenda del equipo bávaro. Estuvo 10 años Alemania donde ganó 8 Bundesligas, 5 Copas, 5 Supercopas, una Supercopa de Europa y una Champions League. Tras un año sin jugar intentó regresar al fútbol pero su último año en el Groningen fue un fracaso. Apenas pudo jugar por las lesiones, evidenciando el principal problema de la carrera del extremo neerlandés. Robben marcó 246 goles y dio 130 asistencias en los 709 partidos que jugó en una carrera llena de infortunios.
