The last time the venue hosted an international game, the surface was bowler friendly as Australia edged past Sri Lanka in a low-scoring T20I. Team News Australia Aaron Finch is expected to return to his opening slot as we get closer to the World Cup. It will be interesting to see if Australia bring back all four first-choice bowlers for this clash and if they do, then Nathan Ellis will consider himself unlucky after an impressive performance in a game dominated by the batters. Probable XI: David Warner, Aaron Finch (C), Mitchell Marsh, Glenn Maxwell, Marcus Stoinis, Tim David, Matthew Wade (WK), Pat Cummins, Mitchell Starc, Josh Hazlewood, Adam Zampa England Mark Wood turned the game around on Sunday to finish with a three-wicket haul. He is vital to England's chances in the World Cup so the possibility of him getting a rest is indeed quite high. Probable XI: Jos Buttler (C & WK), Alex Hales, Dawid Malan, Ben Stokes, Harry Brook, Moeen Ali, Sam Curran, Chris Woakes, Chris Jordan, Reece Topley/David Willey, Adil Rashid What they said: "I'm just super clear before I go out to bat. I think it happens for a lot of people once they cement their spot in the team. I knew that in the West Indies (last year) that I was going to be batting three so I had months to prepare for that. I went in there really clear and obviously took that opportunity." - Mitchell Marsh on being Australia's No.3 in T20 cricket Squads: England Squad: Jos Buttler(w/c), Alex Hales, Dawid Malan, Ben Stokes, Harry Brook, Moeen Ali, Sam Curran, Chris Woakes, Adil Rashid, Reece Topley, Mark Wood, Liam Livingstone, Philip Salt, David Willey, Chris Jordan Australia Squad: David Warner, Cameron Green, Mitchell Marsh, Aaron Finch(c), Marcus Stoinis, Tim David, Matthew Wade(w), Daniel Sams, Nathan Ellis, Kane Richardson, Mitchell Swepson, Josh Inglis, Ashton Agar, Sean Abbott, Steven Smith

The umpires and players are making their way to the middle. Shikhar Dhawan and Shubman Gill walk down the stairs to open for India. South Africans are in a huddle before they take their respective fielding positions. Earlier in the day the toss was delayed due to wet outfield the match was reduced to 40 overs a side. India won the toss and opted to bowl first Quinton de Kock and Janneman Malan walked out to open the batting for South Africa. Avesh Khan and Mohammed Siraj took the new ball for India and used the overhead conditions very well. The duo was making the ball talk swinging it both ways making life hard for the South African openers there were plenty of plays and misses in the initial stage but de Kock and Malan did well to bat through it and slowly but steadily started accumulating runs. Shardul Thakur was introduced into the attack and got the first breakthrough dismissing Janneman Malan for 22 of 42. Temba Bavuma walked out to bat and failed once again he was dismissed by Shardul on 8 after facing 12 deliveries his poor run of form continues. Markram was dismissed on a duck by Kuldeep Yadav At this point South Africa were 3 down with 71 runs on the board. De Kock and Klaasen steadied the ship Ravi Bishnoi who is making his debut was slightly wayward initially allowing the batters to sweep and cut he was bowling a bit too quick on a pitch that was turning square. He made the corrections and got the big wicket of de Kock who was just 2 runs away from his 50 after facing 54 balls. David Miller joined Klaasen in the middle and together they stitched a brilliant partnership and took South Africa past the 200 runs mark. Both got to their respective fifties and changed their gears towards the end smashing bowlers all around the park!! There were a couple of catches dropped by the Indian side which eventually cost them an extra 10-20 runs. Miller finished with an unbeaten 75 of 63 alongside Klaasen who remained not out as well on 74 of 65 South Africa got to 249/4 in their allowed over of 40. Shardul Thakur was the pick of the bowlers for India he finished with 2 for 35 of his 8 overs. Kuldeep and Bishnoi picked up a wicket each Bishnoi was a bit expensive giving away 69 runs of his 8 overs. Siraj and Avesh went wicketless. With dew expected to kick in the latter half of the game this chase should be straightforward for India. Audio Content Disclaimer For This Content This is self-created content and not copied content. But for a change cricket lovers are witnessing a long series and that too in the shortest format. And to add curiosity of the fans the seven-match T20I series has lived up to the expectations 🔥 atleast till now! Currently Pakistan are ahead in the series 3-2 and are just one win away from achieving an unassailable lead. The Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore is all set to host the sixth T20I between Pakistan and England. Visitors need to win this game in order to stay alive in the competition. While the Moeen Ali-led side won the first and third T20Is the Babar Azam-led unit won the other three games i.e. the second fourth and fifth matches in the series. It was all about batting in the first three matches but in the previous two matches it was the bowlers who showed their worth in the shortest format. Pakistan would be happy with the way they have played in the five matches. The batters haven't performed the way they needed to with the pitch being as flat as a highway atleast that was the speculation hovering around. If not for the ever-consistent Mohammad Rizwan who has four half-centuries in the series the Men in Green would have been nowhere in terms of scores. The rest of the batting order apart from Babar Azam who has a match-winning hundred in the second T20I haven't really turned good for the side. So they will love to tick the boxes of middle and lower-order woes. Naseem Shah has been ruled out of the series after being ill (Pneumonia and testing positive for COVID-19). But for this series his absence isn't a big concern as he just featured in one game. Being a key frontline bowler Pakistan hope that he gets recovered in time heading into World Cup. Haris Rauf has again shown why he is one of the lethal speedsters. The debutant in the last game Aamer Jamal also did well to hold his nerves while defending 15 in the final over. As always Pakistan have a great pace battery alongside spin bowling all-rounders like Mohammad Nawaz Iftikhar Ahmed and Shadab Khan. On the other hand England are definitely missing their regular white-ball skipper Jos Buttler. The opening has been shilly-shallying but the plus points were the consistency of Ben Duckett and Harry Brook. Dawid Malan's struggle with the spin is a long old story. The stand-in skipper Moeen Ali played exceedingly well throughout the series and was a lone hander in the previous game with an unbeaten fifty but failed to get past the victory line. Bowling has been spot on except for the second T20I and Mark Wood has been the one who rattled the opposition with his raw pace. England did manage to bat well in the first three games but in the last two where the pitch had some assistance to slower deliveries they struggled for timing. The availability of Buttler is still a question mark❓And with the games coming thick and fast both teams might rotate around with the players. There is a possibility for Babar Azam to get through the milestone of scoring 3000 T20I runs. He is 52 runs away from it. If he does in this game he will be the joint fastest to achieve this alongside Virat Kohli. Audio Content Disclaimer For This Content This is self-created content and not copied content.
