KK Karpos Sokoli 2000 made a huge step towards the Second Stage in SIGAL UNIQA Balkan League. The Skopje team visited SK Tirana and thanks to a great run in the third quarter managed to pull away and eventually win 100-83. With that result the team threw out the hosts from the competition. This win may be enough for Karpos to advance if Trepca loses tomorrow away at Peja or next week at Sutjeska. The Skopje team has the advantage from the two games and if the two teams finished with the same record The Macedonian will take the higher position. As for Tirana this defeat means the team is 100% out of the competition. It currently has 3-6 record but even with a win in Peja next week can′t qualify. Nonetheless it was a great debut for the Albanian side as the team had some good performances and nice wins. Shortly after the start Tirana managed to score some points and went up by 6. The team led until the end of the first period and also in the first minutes of the second one. That was before Karpos made a 7-0 run to go up by 4 as after that the visitors kept leading. Their advantage even reached 8 points but Tirana ended good the first half to close the gap to just 2. The hosts managed to tie the score after the break but shortly before the middle of the third quarter Karpos started the decisive run. The visitors scored 13 points in a row to take a big lead which after 30 minutes went up to 16 after they finished with on a 19-3 run. In the last ten minutes the players of Karpos Sokoli controlled the game and had no trouble to finish with a win. Dragan Zekovic had a very good game for the winners finishing with 25 points and 5 rebounds. Filip Sepa also did well with 22 points as Bojan Trajkovski added 12 and 7 rebounds. The top scorer for the home side was Griffin Ramme with 19 points as he also dished out 5 assists. Endrit Hysenagolli had another double-double with 14 points and 10 rebounds as Erkand Karaj also scored 14.
