Leonys Martin home run of the Cleveland Indians leads to a 3-0 victory over the Los Angeles Angels. Martin, acquired from Detroit on Tuesday before the trade deadline, led the Indians to a 3-0 victory over the Angels on Saturday night in front of a crowd at Progressive Field. The contribution of Kluber, a blanqueada of three hits, did not go unnoticed either. The Indians and the angels were locked in a game without annotations that entered the bottom of the sixth. The difference is that right-handed Felix Pena was throwing a game without hits for the Angels, while Kluber was working on a three-hit game. Martin changed that when he started the sixth with an in-line homer in the right-field seats for the first hit of the tribe and a 1-0 lead. It was Martin's third hit in the same amount of games, and the second home run, since the trade. Peña stayed behind Martin, 3-1, and the left-handed center fielder did not miss his next pitch. He hit it at 415 feet with an exit speed of 107 mph. "I was looking for a good pitch and I saw it right in the middle of the plate," Martin said. After Martin created the opening, the Indians rushed to jump through it. Francisco Lindor doubled and scored with Michael Brantley's single for a 2-0 lead. When José Ramírez turned to the left, Peña ended the night. The Indians stretched the lead to 3-0 in the seventh when Brandon Guyer scored on a passed ball to receiver Francisco Arcia.

To start the fifth inning, Báez hit a home run on the first pitch he saw to center to knock Corey Kluber out of the game; Andrew Miller came on in relief and gave up a walk to Kris Bryant and RBI single to Anthony Rizzo to push the lead to 5–1. A wild pitch that ricocheted off Ross' helmet allowed Santana and Kipnis to score, narrowing the Cubs' lead to 5–3. On a 2-2 count, Indians center fielder Rajai Davis, who had 55 career home runs in 11 seasons entering this game, hit a home run to left field off of Aroldis Chapman, scoring Guyer and tying the game at 6-6. With the game tied at six after nine innings, heavy rain rapidly approached the area, and the game went into a 17-minute rain delay. Going into extra innings, the Cubs scored two runs in the top of the tenth inning on a double by Ben Zobrist and a single by Miguel Montero. The Indians scored a run on a single by Davis in the bottom of the tenth inning, but Mike Montgomery finished the game for Chicago, retiring Martínez with an infield grounder fielded by Bryant near the mound, to end the game, series, baseball season and their 108-year "curse". Zobrist won the World Series MVP award. The Cubs became the first team to come back from a 3–1 deficit to win the Series since the 1985 Kansas City Royals. #WeAreGood
