HIGHLIGHTS | Brentford vs Arsenal (0-3) | Saliba, Gabriel Jesus, Fabio Vieira
HIGHLIGHTS | Brentford vs Arsenal (0-3) | Saliba, Gabriel Jesus, Fabio Vieira

An excellent attacking display resulted in a well-deserved victory away to Brentford. We were the better side from the moment William Saliba headed us into the lead after 17 minutes, and the winning margin could have been even greater. Gabriel Jesus added a second with a well-taken header before Fabio Vieira – on his first start in the Premier League – crashed home a third in the second half. Ethan Nwaneri came on as a late substitute to make history as our youngest ever player – aged just 15 – as we went back to the top of the league in fine style. After a minute’s silence, and rousing rendition of God Save the King, we got underway and had an excellent chance within two minutes. After a flowing move, the ball was worked towards Granit Xhaka in plenty of space inside the area. He picked out Gabriel Martinelli in a central position, but the Brazilian lost his footing at the vital moment, and his shot trickled through to David Raya in the Brentford goal. After our bright start, we took the lead from our first corner of the game. Bukayo Saka swung the ball in, Saliba got across his marker and glanced a header across in the keeper and in off the post for his second of the season. Raya tried to claw the ball away, but goal-line technology ruled it had gone in. We soon increased the lead with another header. Again we built up the play really well, before Xhaka floated in a wonderful deep cross to the far post, where Jesus rose majestically to plant his header firmly back into the opposite top corner. Saka flashed a shot over when he broke into the penalty area just moments later as we threatened to take complete control. Brentford reminded us of their danger, especially from set-pieces, and put us under pressure with two or three successive long throws and corners, but our defence dealt well with the aerial assault. We continued in the same vein at the start of the second half, and Jesus had a shot blocked after wriggling free inside the box. We didn’t have to wait long to increase the lead though. Bukayo Saka rolled the ball to Vieira, five yards outside the box. The Portuguese midfielder was afforded too much time by the home defence, so he shifted the ball onto his left foot, then arrowed his shot home off the post. It was a superb way for the 22 year old to announce his arrival on his first Premier League start. Mikel Arteta’s men kept the pace high in search of further goals, and dominated possession. The closest the hosts came was from a free-kick just outside the area. Ivan Toney flicked the ball up and looped a volley just over the cross bar. Meanwhile, Raya made a good stop low down to prevent what would have been an excellent team goal, with the impressive Xhaka setting up Jesus in the box. Raya then made a wonderful flying save to deny Saka when the England man’s curling shot was destined for the net. As time ran out, Eddie Nketiah came on for his 100th Arsenal appearance, to join Jesus up front. But it was another Hale End graduate coming on that made Arsenal – and Premier League – history. Nwaneri – aged just 15 and 181 days – came on to become our youngest ever player, breaking Cesc Fabregas’s record by nearly than a year. He’s also now the first ever 15 year old to play in the Premier League, and he will always remember this historic – albeit brief – debut for the final few minutes at the Brentford Community Stadium. And he can say he played his part in a victory that took us back to the top of the table. That’s six wins from our opening seven games, heading into the international break before an intense-looking October, featuring nine matches. #arsenal Enjoy match highlights, training and behind the scenes to get closer to the likes of Bukayo Saka, Martin Odegaard, Emile Smith Rowe, Vivianne Miedema, Gabriel Jesus, Alex Zinchenko, Leah Williamson, Kim Little, Mana Iwabuchi, Jordan Nobbs, Takehiro Tomiyasu, Kim Little, Gabriel Martinelli, Aaron Ramsdale, Beth Mead, Ben White and more. HIGHLIGHTS | Arsenal vs Sevilla (6-0) | Gabriel Jesus scores a hat-trick on Emirates Stadium debut!
HIGHLIGHTS | Arsenal vs Sevilla (6-0) | Gabriel Jesus scores a hat-trick on Emirates Stadium debut!

We finished our pre-season campaign in fine style by thrashing Sevilla 6-0 to claim the Emirates Cup, with Gabriel Jesus making an instant impression on his new supporters by grabbing a hat-trick. A capacity crowd were treated to four goals in the opening 20 minutes, courtesy of braces from Bukayo Saka and Jesus, with the Brazilian striker completing his treble on 77 minutes before Eddie Nketiah got in on the act in the final minute. The performance, clinical finishing and clean sheet ensured it was a wonderful afternoon’s work for Mikel Arteta’s men, who look well-prepared for the Premier League starting in six days’ time. The atmosphere was buoyant at Emirates Stadium before kick-off, which only increased during the opening 20 minutes as we ran riot and found the net four times to stun our opponents. The scoring began in the 10th minute when Martin Odegaard clipped a ball over the top for Saka to chase, who was inexplicably pushed over by Karim Rekik, leaving referee Andy Madley no option but to award a penalty, which Saka stroked home. The lead was swiftly doubled two minutes later when Ben White’s crossfield pass picked out Jesus on the left touchline, who then found Granit Xhaka. After edging his way into the box, his low cross was parried by Bono into the path of the onrushing Jesus, who had the simple task of tucking the chance away. And after giving the majority of supporters their first glimpse of his famous telephone celebration in Arsenal colours, he was at it again two minutes later. Again the threat came down the left but this time through Gabriel Martinelli, and with the Sevilla defence sleeping, a teasing cross allowed Jesus to race in behind and dispatch the delivery into the net. Sevilla had completely lost their heads, and that was typified by our fourth goal. A routine pass back to Bono saw the goalkeeper fluff a weak clearance straight to Saka, whose first-time effort trickled through the shot-stopper’s legs to cap off an incredible start. Glee was spreading around the stadium, and none more so than on the pitch, with Arteta’s team producing plenty of slick passing and looking threatening every time they entered the final third. During a couple of rare forays forward for the visitors in the first half, Youssef En-Nesyri flashed a shot just wide before heading straight at Aaron Ramsdale - a feat Thomas Partey repeated following a corner, before a remarkable half ended with Bono clawing back some redemption by making a double save to deny both Jesus and Odegaard, and then denying Martinelli one-on-one. It was a much tighter affair immediately after the break, with Rekik heading a corner just wide 10 minutes after the restart, but we were working through the gears again and after Jesus dragged an attempt from 25 yards wide, Oleksandr Zinchenko picked out Odegaard in the box but he blasted over. Midway through the second half there was almost a delightful goal to cheer when Partey chipped a ball over the backline for Xhaka, and his side-footed volley narrowly missed the top corner, but on 77 minutes the long wait for another goal ended. A Martinelli corner caused havoc as Gabriel forced Bono into a close-range save, but Jesus was on hand to drive home the rebound, complete his treble and register his seventh goal in just five pre-season outings. White almost put the cap on the result when a clever free-kick routine saw him attempt to lob Bono but it drifted wide, but in the final minute a sixth was added when Xhaka showed good skill to play in Martinelli, and after carrying the ball 40 yards the Brazilian unselfishly squared to Nketiah to complete the rout. The final whistle was greeted with rapturous applause by those in attendance, who stayed to watch Odegaard get his hands on the Emirates Cup trophy to mark our sixth triumph in the competition’s history. HIGHLIGHTS | Arsenal v Everton (2-0) | Gabriel Jesus, Bukayo Saka | Charm City Match
HIGHLIGHTS | Arsenal v Everton (2-0) | Gabriel Jesus, Bukayo Saka | Charm City Match

Gabriel Jesus continued his goalscoring start to life at Arsenal, netting the first in a comfortable 2-0 win over Everton in Baltimore. The Brazilian fired home at the far post from a corner, before setting up Saka for the second. Playing at the home of NFL side the Baltimore Ravens, our supporters far outnumbered their Everton counterparts, and created a fantastic atmosphere in the 70,000 capacity stadium. After a fairly quiet opening 10 minutes we gradually upped the tempo, and Jesus forced a good low save from Jordan Pickford before Granit Xhaka glanced a header against the post from a corner. At the other end Matt Turner had his palms stung by a Niels Nkounkou strike at the near post – to chants of “USA, USA” from the crowd. Just after the hour mark we took the lead, and it was that man Jesus again. Fresh from his brace against Nurnberg last weekend, the Brazilian made no mistake when an inswinging Cedric cross looped over Pickford and fell to him at the far post. He took a touch, steadied himself then fired home right-footed. Moments later Jesus created the second for Bukayo Saka. His clipped pass forward was intended for Gabriel Martinelli, but fell all the way for Saka to tuck home at the far post. Two goals in the space of three minutes had put us well in control at the half-time break. Mikel Arteta made half a dozen subs at half-time, with the boss switching to three at the back. We continued to dictate the play, but without adding to the scoreline. All in all though it was another excellent workout, as we made it three wins out of three so far in pre-season. #arsenal #gabrieljesus Enjoy match highlights, training and behind the scenes to get closer to the likes of Bukayo Saka, Emile Smith Rowe, Vivianne Miedema, Nicolas Pepe, Leah Williamson, Bernd Leno, Nikita Parris, Mana Iwabuchi, Jordan Nobbs, Takehiro Tomiyasu, Kim Little, Gabriel Martinelli, Aaron Ramsdale, Beth Mead, Ben White, Thomas Partey and more.
