SC Brühl - Servette FC 3-2 (0-1) Les Grenat se déplaçaient cet après-midi au Paul-Grüninger-Stadion pour y affronter le SC Brühl. La formation d'Uwe Wegmann est invaincue à domicile depuis le début de la saison et avait la ferme intention de poursuivre sur leur lancée, malgré l'absence de leur plaque tournante Riedle malade. Côté genevois, Kevin Cooper avait fait confiance aux mêmes onze hommes qui avaient disposé la semaine dernière de Rapperswil-Jona. Il devait en outre se passer des services de Mfuyi, Sauthier, Infante, Maouche, Doumbia, Cespedes, Kursner et Vonlanthen, tous blessés. Brühl démarrait la rencontre pied au plancher. Sabanovic était le premier à se montrer dangereux forçant Pont à sauver sur la ligne (2e). Pacar répondait dans la même minute, reprenant de la tête un centre de Hebib. On retrouvera ces deux hommes plus tard. La rencontre était fort plaisante à suivre. Les deux équipes se projetaient rapidement vers l'avant, chacune dans son style. Les locaux jouaient de manière très directe, tandis que les Servettiens tentaient davantage de construire leurs offensives. Chaque équipe se créait de nombreuses occasions,, mais c'est Pacar qui sera le premier à trouver l'ouverture suite à un magnifique une-deux avec Besnard (41e). 0-1. Les Grenat se montraient les plus entreprenants dès l'entame de la seconde mi-temps, essayant de doubler la mise pour se mettre à l'abri. C'est toutefois les Saint-Gallois qui parviendront à égaliser sur un cafouillage dans la zone de vérité genevoise. Sabanovic surgissait pour égaliser (61e). Joie de courte durée pour les 950 spectateurs. En effet, deux minutes plus tard, Pacar, encore lui, redonnait une longueur d'avance aux Servettiens, en associant ses efforts à ceux de Besnard qui s'était arraché pour lui glisser le ballon (63e). Sabanovic et ses coéquipiers jetaient toutes leurs forces dans la bataille pour tenter de revenir au score. Guedes devait à plusieurs reprises sortir le grand jeu pour préserver ce maigre avantage. Mais il ne pourra rien faire sur la lourde frappe de Bushati qui armait une frappe en première intention et mettait le cuir hors de sa portée (87e). 2-2. Rageant. Les Servettiens se mordront les doigts quelques instants plus tard lorsque Sabanovic, omniprésent cet après-midi, inscrivait le but de la victoire sur la dernière action du match (93e). Saluons la belle performance du SC Brühl qui a produit du très beau jeu et a remis l'ouvrage sur le métier durant 93 minutes pour aller accrocher cette victoire.
