Peter Withe scores Nottingham Forest’s fifth goal against Sheffield United at The City Ground, Nottingham, during this memorable Football League encounter played on 9th October 1976. Peter Withe, who would later go on to achieve major success in English football, was already showing the strength, composure and finishing ability that made him such an important attacking player. His intelligent positioning and composed finish capped off an excellent team performance from Nottingham Forest. Sheffield United battled throughout the match, but Forest’s pace, passing and attacking movement proved too much on the day.
