CHICAGO -- The Lob CIty Clippers of CHris Paul, Prime Blake Griffin visit MJ at the UNited Center and look to make a big splash with an upset. The Bulls were playing solid physical defense versus the Clippers in the first quarter, but this led to early foul trouble for MJ and early penalty leading to FT's for the Clippers. In the second quarter, with Rodman sitting down, the Bulls frontcourt appeared thin, and DeAndre Jordan took advantage. He scored on putbacks, mismatches and had 8 in the period. Collison also gave an extra lift, and the CLippers led by as much as 11, 39-28. Rodman, Pippen and MJ regrouped on the floor, with Dennis givinge the extra hustle and muscle inside and go on a 6-0 run before they started turning the ball over again. Clipper hang on to a 7-pt lead at the break. THe third quarter was all about Scottie Pippen. He was aggressive on both ends of the court. He would lead Chicago back in this game, scoring 22 pts with a steal and a block, tying the game with 2Ft's in the last few seconds. A last second 3-pointter from Granger kept the Clippers up by 3 but momentum was starting to go to Chicago's direction. Michael Jordan would carry this momentum in the 4th quarter, scoring 17 pts handing out passes to open teammates, and pushed Bulls ahead by as much as 7 with over 5 mins to go. They looked on the way to winning this thing, but they would start missing open shots and the Clippers claw their way back. It was a tied game with less than 2 mins left. Clippers continued to make Jordan pass the ball and Kukoc and his other teammates would fail to connect on open shots. On the other hand, Chris Paul was making big plays down the stretch on both ends He only had 2 pts to this point but hit 8 big ones down the stretch and found open teammates. Clippers pull of the upset 104-96 Jordan and Pippen combined for 68 pts but no one else inthe team reached double digits. Kukoc was just 3/12 and missed some key open jumpers down the stretch. Blake Griffin led the CLippers with 27 pts. JJ Redick added 20. DeAndre Jordan was actualy awarded PLayer of the Game honors 16 pts 17 rebs 6 blks. But Chris Paul was biggest down the stretch. He had 10 pts, but 16 assists and 5 steals.

Lakers TRADING Rajon Rondo To The Cleveland Cavaliers | Lakers Trade Rumors The Cleveland Cavaliers are holding "serious talks" with the Los Angeles Lakers to acquire veteran point guard Rajon Rondo, according to Shams Charania of The Athletic and Stadium. That comes in the wake of Ricky Rubio tearing his ACL this week, ending his season, while Collin Sexton was already out for the year with a torn meniscus. Those two injuries have left the resurgent Cavs (20-14) incredibly thin at point guard. Rondo, 35, hasn't made much of an impact for the Lakers this season, averaging just 3.1 points and 3.7 assists in 16.1 minutes per game across 18 contests. While a hamstring injury and his current stint in the league's health and safety protocols have cost him games, he's fallen down the pecking order in the rotation. And with veteran Darren Collison recently added to the roster, Rondo is expendable for the Lakers. Quick thoughts on CLE acquiring Rondo (assuming it happens!): -CLE will use Minimum Salary Exception to acquire Rondo. No need to use McGee TPE or send a salary back to LA. -LA is doing this to clear a roster spot & tax hit vs waiving a player. Likely to keep Stanley Johnson. More thoughts on CLE acquiring Rondo (assuming it happens!): -CLE will need to waive a player. Probably Ed Davis, given his non-gtd status -LA will create a small $1.7M TPE, but it will probably go unused, given they'd just trade using Minimum Salary Exception + no roster spots His potential trade would end his second stint with the team after he spent the 2018-19 and 2019-20 seasons with the Lakers, which included winning a title. But since spending parts of the first nine seasons of his career with the Boston Celtics, Rondo hasn't lasted anywhere long. Since leaving Boston in the 2014-15 season, Rondo has played for seven different teams and hasn't lasted more than two years at any one destination. If nothing else, Rondo will bring experience to a young Cavaliers team trying to reach the postseason for the first time since the 2017-18 campaign, when LeBron James still played for the team. Led by Darius Garland (19.5 PPG, 7.3 APG), Jarrett Allen (16.8 PPG, 10.8 RPG) and ascendant rookie Evan Mobley (14.1 PPG, 8.3 RPG, 1.8 BPG), the Cavs are one of the NBA's best stories this season.
