Rajasekhara Reddy ACA-VDCA Cricket Stadium in Visakhapatnam. The 'Moving Day' lived up to expectations as the game ebbed and flowed to leave us with all four results possible with two days remaining in the Test. Considering England's 'Bazball' approach it will not be a surprise if the Test does not go into the fifth day and we get the result on Day 4 itself. On the other hand England will fancy their chances of chasing this mountain of a target going into Day 4. On Day 3 it was all set up by James Anderson in the first half hour before the spinners came to the fore to not let the game drift away from them. Although the visitors lost Ben Duckett before the close of the play and there are doubts over Joe Root's participation due to a finger injury England have ample firepower in the shed to get the remaining 332 runs. The first hour will be pivotal and could heavily influence the outcome of the Test. Who will blink first on Day 4? India's outing on Day 3 was headlined by Shubman Gill but the rest of the batting unit's performances left a lot to be desired. At one stage in the game on the third day they looked to be on course to take their lead over 400 but a bizarre passage of play after Tea saw their innings meander and eventually they were bowled out setting England a target of 399. The hosts have the runs on the board but will still be wary of England's ability to pull off big chases. Given their efforts with the ball in the first inning Rohit Sharma and his men start as slight favourites to win the Test from here more so with the surface expected to deteriorate. India's centurion of the second inning Shubman is in for a chat. He says that it was a good effort today but they could gotten more runs on the board. He talks about the early LBW review going his favour which gave him confidence. He mentions that wicket an easy one bat as the odd ball is keeping some them turning sharp. He ends saying that his father comes to watch most games he actually feels good when he is there watching. When asked about the situation of the game he responds by saying that it still looks 70-30 in favour of India but England have batting to chase. Pitch Report (Dinesh Karthik and Eoin Morgan): Dinesh Karthik: "It's day four of the fantastic Test match. All three days so far have produced different variants for bowlers and the batters. We have Eoin Morgan here. Please take it away." Eoin Morgan: "Good morning DK and to everyone. Of all the days played so far I think this is the most significant pitch report we will do today. We have seen a couple of balls with some variable bounce off spinners and seamers. When you land the ball short of a good length there is a huge crack amongst all of the cracks. Bumrah got a couple of balls to move and shoot low. It was challenging for Crawley yesterday. There is an absolute spider web of cracks today. Predominantly that crack will interest the English batters right-handed batters in particular." Dinesh Karthik: "Joe Root turns one big against Yashasvi Jaiswal. There is an effect of cracks for the spinners as well. If you look at the right-handed batters if I bend forward and look there are a few cracks here that India will be looking to exploit. The question is can the Indian bowlers keep plugging at it or will it be the day when England bring out their sweeps and reverse-sweeps and trouble the Indian bowlers just like they did in Hyderabad?" In fact they've lost just three Tests (two vs Australia and one vs England) in India during that period. That's an incredible record. Ashwin and Jadeja - the spin twins - have made the visiting teams dance to their tunes. The two experienced tweakers unsurprisingly are once again expected to dominate proceedings. They will be up against an England side that's playing an exciting brand of cricket. Under Ben Stokes and Brendon McCullum England haven't lost a Test series and they've featured in a lot of memorable Test matches. So will 'Bazball' work against the Indian spinners in Indian conditions? Can England's inexperienced spinners be as effective as their counterparts? One thing is for sure this is going to be a cracking Test series. Hello everyone and a warm welcome to the first of the five Tests between India and England. England in 2012 were the last team to register a Test series win in India. Alastair Cook & Kevin Pietersen batted brilliantly and the England spin duo of Graeme Swann & Monty Panesar outbowled the Indian spinners to register a famous come-from-behind series win. Joe Root and Ravindra Jadeja made their debuts in that series and they've come a long way. Root is currently the second highest run-getter for England in Tests and he has an impressive record against India. He also has a Test average of 50.10 in India. Being England's best player of spin the No. 4 has a big role to play in the series. Playing fearless cricket and being positive from the word go has been the characteristic of Bazball and they certainly won't change their approach in this series especially with the bat. They've already named their playing XI which features three spinners. The left-arm spinner Jack Leach will be back in action after six months. Leggie Rehan Ahmed is just one-Test-old. And Tom Hartley another left-arm orthodox spinner will be making his Test debut. Can they trouble the Indian batters? India failed to conquer their final frontier as they lost the Boxing Day Test in Centurion but they won the New Year's Test in Cape Town inside two days to square the series in South Africa. They are back home and India will start as firm favourites. For the first time in over 12 years the Indian batting line-up will have none of Virat Kohli Cheteshwar Pujara and Ajinkya Rahane. Kohli pulling out of the first two Tests due to personal reasons would have made the selection call easier. Gill Rahul and Shreyas Iyer are expected to bat at three four and five and the hosts will pick a specialist wicketkeeper. In Ashwin Jadeja and Axar Patel not only do India have three top-class spinners but they are also handy batters lower down the order. Add Jasprit Bumrah and Mohammed Siraj that's a formidable bowling attack in any conditions. KL Rahul is set to feature in his 50th Test match. Ravindra Jadeja is 6 wickets away from completing 100 international wickets against England. Pitch Report | Murali Kartik and Kevin Pietersen: It's a pitch of three parts. It has very dry edges close to the bat. It's a lot more dry on this side. Here it's going to turn. In the middle of the surface second part there's an even covering of grass but it's dry underneath. Dry patches in the middle of the wicket. To the other side of the wicket there's less dry patch closer to the bat. There's going to be a lot of spin. You win the toss and bat first. The spinners will come into play very soon. Joe Root is 30 runs away from becoming the highest run scorer in Tests against India. For all the hype around India being favourites to secure an away series victory against South Africa they were outclassed inside three days of the opening Test. Despite the inexperience factor and the injury to skipper Temba Bavuma. The likes of Marco Jansen Nandre Burger David Bedingham and Tony de Zorzi displayed maturity and supported seniors Kagiso Rabada and Dean Elgar - to register an innings and 32-run win over the two-time WTC finalists. Rohit Sharma the India skipper didn’t offer excuses for India’s abject surrender. “We were not good enough to win Rohit said. If we have to win Test matches we have to come together collectively and we didn't do that. Guys have visited South Africa before we know what to expect and everyone has their own plan. We were challenged we didn't adapt well. India would look for a complete performance to end the tour on a high. All eyes would be on their seniors Rohit Virat Kohli KL Rahul and Bumrah as the visitors hunt for a series-levelling victory. India batters desperately need a mixture of the patience exhibited by Rahul during his 101-run knock in the first innings at SuperSport Park. The fluency shown by Kohli in the second innings. In the bowling department India would aim to strike in pairs to shoot down the Proteas. South Africa on the other hand have an early lead. It’s about keeping their plans simple and wrapping things up at Newlands. If the hosts can continue their dominance it’ll go down as an incredible result given they lost the ODI series 2-1. They would need the same discipline and clarity to stifle India. Being 1-0 up in a series is a position of strength but South Africa would be aware that India are no pushovers and are capable of bouncing back. Best example - 36 all out to 2-1. India: Uncapped pace bowler Avesh Khan has been picked as a replacement for Mohammed Shami who has an ankle injury. Ravindra Jadeja who missed the first Test due to back spasms is likely to return. Those are the greatest memories you can share with your team and everyone who has an influential role in the background. Shardul Thakur who sustained a blow to his left shoulder during an optional practice session last week is fine and available for selection. South Africa: Bavuma who suffered a hamstring strain in Centurion has been ruled out of the New Year’s Test. Dean Elgar will be the Proteas stand-in captain in what will be his final Test. Meanwhile Zubayr Hamza has been added to the squad as Bavuma’s replacement. In another big blow pace bowler Gerald Coetzee too will miss the second Test due to pelvic inflammation. Head-to-Head Record in Tests 43 Matches Played 18 - South Africa Won 15 - India Won 10 - Drawn. Usually when India touch down in Cape Town they are on the threshold of a dream. Thrice since 1992 have they arrived here to play the decider winning which would have enabled them to tick South Africa off their list of places to win a series at. What to expect: A full house and midsummer heat which should take most of the spice out of the pitch. The surface looked less green on Tuesday than it did on Monday. In any case Newlands tends to offer South Africa's fairest contest between bat and ball. No rain has been forecast for the duration of the match. "I only play the game to win. I don't care about stats. I care about wins. I care about series wins. Audio Content Disclaimer For This Content This is self-created content and not copied content.
