This man wanted to find his biological parents, but he was shocked when he learned that his father had been with him this entire time. When Deland McCullough was only two years old, his adoptive parents got divorced, and his mother struggled to make ends meet. Growing up in this environment, he channeled his frustrations into football, and in his senior year of high school, he was recruited to play for Miami University under the mentorship of coach Sherman Smith. They formed a strong connection, and coach Smith treated Deland as his own son. Deland became such a talented football player that, by the end of college, he was drafted to play in the NFL. After having his first son, Deland decided to search for his biological parents. When he found his mother, she revealed his father's name. Deland couldn't believe what he heard. It turned out that his father had been by his side all along — it was Sherman Smith. Sherman never knew he had a son, as Deland's biological mother had never told him about her pregnancy. When they met after learning the truth, they shared a big hug, and Deland, who had grown up without a dad, was called 'son' for the first time in his life. ===================== ESPN: https://www.espn.com/espn/feature/story/_/id/24505521/the-jaw-dropping-story-nfl-coach-search-family Show Me The Father - Trailer (Documentary): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Je1_N6FCKnE&t=9s WKBN 27 First News: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9sX_ASPlMiA https://www.wkbn.com/news/local-news/campbell-native-will-watch-big-game-from-sidelines-as-chiefs-running-backs-coach/ ===================== Music from #Uppbeat https://uppbeat.io/t/yasumu/heading-south License code: 1P3QMARQCBGPAWWU
He is a legend in Camden, New Jersey; he was nothing short of a phenom during his high school career with the Camden Panthers. He left the school after his 2001 senior season as the highest scoring player in New Jersey State history, and in his senior year had done the improbable, as he scored 100 points in a single game; as the best moment of a career filled with high scoring. He would be the first Blue Chip prospect for Coach John Calipari, after he took over the Memphis Tigers coaching position. And Wagner would impress in his freshman season, as he would lead the Tigers to the NIT championship and take home the MVP. He would then be drafted to the Cleveland Cavaliers where he would spend some time on a rebuilding Cavs team with guys like Ricky Davis, Darius Miles, and LeBron James. But Wagner could barely stay on the court; as along with your typical sports injuries, it was discovered quite early that he had ulcerative colitis, which would essentially end his career at the age of 22 years old. He would have a brief comeback with the Golden State Warriors in 2007, but that lasted one game, as overall he appeared in just 103 games throughout his NBA career; and even though he never fulfilled the expectations it was due to his body failing him; as Dajuan Wagner could score however he wanted and if he would have been able to polish his game and improve his basketball IQ; he could have been a perfect sidekick to LeBron James; but that just wasn’t how it panned out for the High School Great. https://www.basketball-reference.com/players/w/wagneda02.html Music from #Uppbeat (free for Creators!): https://uppbeat.io/t/genuine-colour/borrowed-perspective License code: KM6PUEOIEPBY9PST *Copyright Disclaimer Under Section 107 of the Copyright Act 1976, allowance is made for "fair use" for purposes such as criticism, comment, news reporting, teaching, scholarship, and research.
