INTO THE UCL LAST 16! | Arsenal vs Lens (6-0) | Havertz, Jesus, Saka, Martinelli, Jorginho

We qualified for the knockout stages of the UEFA Champions League with a convincing, confident, classy 6-0 win at home to RC Lens on Wednesday night. Kai Havertz got his second goal in as many games to give us an early lead, before Gabriel Jesus made it two, Bukayo Saka got a third, and Gabriel Martinelli then got his name on the scoresheet with 28 minutes played in a dominant first-half display. Martin Odegaard scored for 5-0 on the brink of half-time, and Jorginho became our sixth different goalscorer of the night from the penalty spot late on. It took just seven minutes for us to have our first sight of goal as Oleksandr Zinchenko crossed for Jesus, who could only cushion the ball into the side netting past the near post. Five minutes later, Saka found Takehiro Tomiyasu overlapping on the right wing. He delivered a cross for Havertz who headed the ball back across goal and just wide of the post. Then we took the lead, Tomiyasu’s cross not cleared and Jesus heading the ball into the path of Havertz, who simply tucked it past the onrushing Brice Samba for 1-0. Jesus was the man who slotted home into the bottom left corner for our second goal of the night, but it wouldn’t have happened without the lung-busting run of Saka, wriggling his way through the middle of the pitch exactly five years on from his senior debut before laying it off for our Brazilian forward. “We’ve got super Mik Arteta” rung around Emirates Stadium, inviting a third from our glorious Gunners, and Saka duly obliged. Martinelli cut in from the left and his shot was pushed kindly into Saka’s path, and he simply couldn’t miss. In the 27th minute, Martinelli drifted in from the left wing again and curled the ball into the far corner on his right foot as we went 4-0 up inside the first half-hour - a ruthless performance. Elye Wahi forced a save from David Raya from a narrow angle at the other end for Lens’ first real chance of the game in the 37th minute, before Facundo Madina smashed the post from distance. Angelo Fulgini then struck straight into Raya’s gloves. Martinelli hit the side netting with half-time approaching before Odegaard got in on the act, volleying into the bottom right corner from Tomiyasu’s cross after our full-back had flown past Saka again on the overlap. Tomiyasu was replaced by Ben White at half-time while Zinchenko made way for Jakub Kiwior. We made another change with 25 minutes to go as Reiss Nelson came on for Saka. Unsurprisingly, the second half was nowhere near as eventful and it took until the 67th minute for the first notable chance, Havertz performing some excellent trickery by the corner flag and pulling it back for Odegaard, whose deflected shot was spilled before Lens cleared the danger. Jorginho came on for Declan Rice, who had looked typically comfortable on the ball throughout, with 15 minutes remaining. White headed over from an Odegaard corner before Eddie Nketiah became our final substitution of then game when he came on for Jesus with eight minutes to go. With five minutes remaining, we were awarded a penalty, courtesy of a VAR check, due to a handball from Abdukodir Lhusanov. Odegaard gave it to Jorginho, who calmly slotted into the bottom right for 6-0. #arsenal Enjoy match highlights, training and behind the scenes to get closer to the likes of Bukayo Saka, Martin Odegaard, Emile Smith Rowe, Vivianne Miedema, Gabriel Jesus, Alex Zinchenko, Leah Williamson, Takehiro Tomiyasu, Kim Little, Gabriel Martinelli, Aaron Ramsdale, Beth Mead, Ben White and more. INSIDE TRAINING | Building up to Brentford | Goals, skills, rondos and more

We’re back in Premier League action this weekend with a trip to Brentford following the international break. Take a look at how our lads got on in the latest session at London Colney as we get ready to face the Bees. We’ll be looking to pick up where we left off after a 3-1 win against Burnley that left us third in the Premier League prior to the international break. Thomas Frank’s side will be hoping to show a response to their 3-0 loss at Liverpool in early November. FORGOTTEN GOALS | Kanu, Vela, Gnabry, Wright, Nasri, Aubameyang, Podolski & more!

There have been so many classic strikes at Emirates Stadium, Highbury and beyond, that naturally some of these moments of magic get lost. To bring them back, we've compiled some of the greatest forgotten goals of recent years, including Lukas Podolski's spectacular volley against Montpellier and Ray Parlour's rocket against Valencia. HIGHLIGHTS | Arsenal vs Burnley (3-1) | Premier League | Trossard, Saliba, Zinchenko
HIGHLIGHTS | Arsenal vs Burnley (3-1) | Premier League | Trossard, Saliba, Zinchenko

Leandro Trossard scored our 1,000th goal at Emirates Stadium, before William Saliba and Alex Zinchenko added second-half to earn all three points against Burnley. Trossard went in bravely at the far post to break the deadlock at the end of the first half, and although the visitors briefly drew level through a deflected Josh Brownhill effort, we deservedly wrapped up the points thanks to our prowess at set-pieces. Saliba headed home Trossard’s corner, before Zinchenko acrobatically scored our third, when another dangerous corner wasn’t fully cleared. We finished the game with ten men after Fabio Vieira was shown a straight red card for a dangerous challenge on Brownhill, but we saw out time comfortably to extend our unbeaten home run and move up to second place. After a moving rendition of The Last Post, and reading of Ode of Remembrance, we got play under way on a sunny, autumnal afternoon in north London. Gabriel headed over a corner early on, but the first effort on target came from the hosts – Zeki Amdouni’s long range effort was turned behind by David Raya. We first made James Trafford work when Bukayo Saka was alive to a loose ball in the box, and lashed a right-footed shot first time towards the top corner, but the young Burnley keeper pushed the shot onto the bar and away. We were beginning to warm to our task, and create more chances. The twinkle-toed Alex Zinchenko set up Saka inside the area and his low cross was scrambled away, before Saka was penalised for a shove in the box when Jordan Beyer’s header looked to be lopping into his own goal. Burnley were soaking up the pressure, but served warning of their goal threat when Johann Gudmundsson drew a good low save from Raya when he broke through centrally. Trossard was next to try his luck for us. Declan Rice snapped into a challenge in midfield to win the ball and release Kai Havertz. He found the Belgian on the edge of the box, and his dipping effort was tipped over. As the seconds ticked away to half-time, we finally made the breakthrough. Saka won another dangerous cross into the box from Zinchenko, and headed towards Trossard at the far post. The Belgian kept his eye on the ball despite being challenged by Trafford, to nod home from close range. As he received treatment on the floor, the Emirates faithful celebrated the 1,000th goal we’ve scored at the stadium since moving here in 2006. More significantly, it put us ahead after a patient first-half performance. But the lead was erased early in the second half. The lively Luca Koleosho got the better of Takehiro Tomiyasu on the left, caused confusion with his cross, and Josh Brownhill saw his shot beat Raya with the aid of a deflection from Gabriel. We responded instantly. Gabriel Martinelli streaked away on the left and fired his shot at Trafford at the near post. From the resulting corner from Trossard, Saliba got in front of the keeper to thud home a header at close range. Rice fired just wide from 25 yards before we finally secured a two-goal cushion. Trossard’s corners had been coughing problems all afternoon, and another delivered into a dangerous area bounced against the bar off a Burnley defender, before falling to Zinchenko, who improvised brilliantly to volley into the top corner. It was a lovely finish. Just like Saliba’s, it was the Ukrainian’s first goal at the Emirates. It gave us some breathing room, but our task was made more difficult again when substitute Vieira was sent off for a studs high challenge on Brownhill. Down to ten men, we had more defending to do in the closing stages, but we saw out the remaining ten minutes or so with little cause for alarm, and in fact finished with nine, when Jorginho was taken off with a head injury deep into stoppage time. HIGHLIGHTS | Crystal Palace vs Arsenal (0-1) | Premier League | Odegaard

Martin Odegaard’s penalty was enough to beat Crystal Palace and record back-to-back wins at the start of the campaign, despite us finishing with 10 men. The captain stroked home a spot-kick on 53 minutes after Eddie Nketiah was brought down in the box by Sam Johnstone, before Takehiro Tomiyasu was dismissed for two yellow cards - our first dismissal in the Premier League since May 2022. However Mikel Arteta’s team clung onto the points thanks to a solid rearguard display from that point onwards to kick off the season with six points from six.
