Umjubelt, reich und berühmt: Viele Jungen haben den Traum, so zu werden wie ihre großen Fußballidole beim FC Bayern München oder bei Borussia Dortmund. Fast allen fehlt aber schon von klein auf das nötige Talent. Doch es gibt sie, die "Rohdiamanten", Kinder, die schon früh das Talent mitbringen, das ein Fußballprofi braucht. Was ist aus den Fußballtalenten geworden? In einer Langzeitbeobachtung wirft 45 Min einen Blick hinter die Kulissen, begleitet seit vier Jahren Kinder und Jugendliche, die diesen Traum leben. Am 24. September 2018 wurde der erste Teil im NDR Fernsehen ausgestrahlt. Nun kommt die Fortsetzung: Was ist aus den Träumen geworden? Wo stehen die jungen Fußball-Talente jetzt? Hat einer von ihnen schon den Durchbruch geschafft? Der damals neunjährige Michel zum Beispiel wird bereits vom HSV umworben. Der junge Torwart wird vor die Frage gestellt, sein Freundesumfeld für die ersten Schritte auf dem Weg zum Profi aufzugeben. Und Michel erlebt in diesem Winter, wie ihn Corona ausbremst: kein Training, keine Punktspiele, keine Talentsichtung. Hält er durch? Können sich die Nick-Zwillinge in der Bundesliga behaupten? Und was ist mit den beiden Top-Talenten Yari und Nick des Bundesligisten VfL Wolfsburg, die den Sprung in eine Bundesligamannschaft unbedingt schaffen wollen?
