À l’heure où le sujet de la cadence infernale imposée aux joueurs fait débat (notamment avec la possible création d’un Mondial tous les 2 ans), Pep Guardiola commence à en avoir marre. « Les joueurs et les managers tous ensemble ont besoin de faire une grève ou faire quelque chose parce que les mots seuls ne suffiront pas. Nous parlons de bien-être des joueurs, peut-être que les associations de joueurs devraient dire : "OK, nous ne jouons plus tant que nous n'avons pas résolu cette situation." » Le retour aux 3 changements agace Guardiola Et si le Catalan est si remonté, ce n’est pas uniquement à cause du calendrier infernal qui attend les clubs de Premier League suite au report de nombreux matches ou de la volonté de l’UEFA et de la FIFA d’alourdir encore le calendrier international à cause de leurs guerres intestines (Mondial tous les 2 ans contre une Ligue des Nations avec des équipes sud-américaines). Là, c’est le retour aux trois changements (au lieu de 5) qui agace l’Espagnol. « Nous parlons du bien-être des joueurs, mais c'est le seul pays qui n'accepte pas cinq remplacements. Nous n'en avons que trois. Pourquoi ? C'est beaucoup mieux pour tout le monde avec le nombre de matches auxquels nous jouons tous. Mais la Premier League ou les clubs ont décidé de ne pas le faire. » En effet, 14 des 20 clubs de Premier League devaient voter pour le maintien des cinq changements pour que la règle perdure. Mais les petites écuries ont fait barrage, indiquant que ces cinq changements favorisaient surtout les grands clubs dotés d’effectifs plus conséquents. À moins d’un mois du coup d’envoi de la Coupe d’Afrique des Nations 2022 au Cameroun, la CAF vient de publier la liste des 33 arbitres sélectionnés pour la compétition. Et le Cameroun, qui vient de fêter l’élection de Samuel Eto’o Fils à la tête de la Fécafoot (fédération camerounaise de football), se prépare sans doute à accueillir cette fête. Ça, c’était sans compter sur la propagation à vitesse grand V du variant Omicron. RMC Sport révèle en effet que l’édition 2022 de la CAN pourrait tout simplement être annulée ! Rien n’est encore acté, mais le média affirme que la réflexion est en tout cas engagée et que plusieurs sélectionneurs ont eu vent de cette possibilité. Les clubs anglais font pression Deux raisons expliquent cette information. Tout d’abord, les difficultés à organiser une compétition à l’heure où le variant Omicron se propage à grande vitesse partout dans le monde. Ensuite, c’est en Angleterre qu’il faut regarder. Durement touchés par une flambée de cas positifs, les clubs britanniques feraient pression. En clair, en raison des règles sanitaires strictes imposées sur le sol anglais, notamment en cas d’arrivée en provenance de l’étranger (quarantaine), les clubs de Premier League font tout pour conserver leurs joueurs africains. Une nouvelle qui fera sans doute jaser en Afrique. Hal itu pun membuat pemerintah Singapura melalui Kementerian Kesehatan mengirimkan surat kepada Elkan agar pemain tersebut melakukan karantina hingga 18 Desember 2021. Kasus Elkan hampir mirip dengan tim bulutangkis Indonesia saat tampil di all england. Pasalnya, beberapa pebulu tangkis Indonesia sempat melakoni pertandingan pada hari pertama. Tapi, kemudian dikabarkan salah satu penunpang penerbangan yang bareng mereka dari Istanbul ke Birmingham dinyatakan positif Covid-19. Sesuai aturan karantina di Inggris, jika berada pada satu pesawat yang sama dengan orang yang positif Covid-19, penumpang lain harus menjalani isolasi selama 10 hari. Akibat kasus ini kontingen bukutangkis Indonesia akhirnya memutuskan mundur dari All England. Tapi, pengurus olahraga Indonesia yang tidak paham kebijakan pemerintah Inggris langsung protes dan menyatakan akan menggungat BWF ke CAS. Faktanya, gugatan hanya gertak dan CAS pun tidak merespon. Maklum, perintah karantina atlet bulutangkis saat itu terkait aturan penerbangan dari pemerintah Inggris, bukan aturan all england (lex sportiva). Serupa dengan kasus Elkan yang terkait aturan penerbangan di Singapura, bukan terkait regulasi AFF. Kasus Elkan berbeda juga maintenance-nya dengan kasus empat pemain Malaysia yang terkena Covid. Kasus Elkann berhubungan dengan regulasi penerbangan. Kalau kasus positif Covid-19 pemain Malaysia masuk kategori regulasi di AFF. Jadi, tidak bisa disamakan karena konstruksi hukumnya berbeda. Dan, hukum olahraga (lex sportiva), juga tidak bisa dibenturkan dengan hukum positif.
