We fell to a disappointing 2-1 defeat to Brighton on Saturday at Emirates Stadium, with goals from Leandro Trossard and Enock Mwepu handing The Seagulls all three points despite a wonder-goal from Martin Odegaard late on. After defeat last time out to Crystal Place and injuries to key players, it was crucial we got off to a good start against Brighton in north London, but it wasn't to be. Chances were few and far between for the Gunners in the opening exchanges, with Bukayo Saka's back-post cross to Gabriel Magalhaes representing our best move in the first 25 minutes. Three minutes later, though, we were behind. Brighton played a long clearance upfield into the right-hand channel towards Mwepu who picked out Trossard inside the box. The 27-year-old forward only needed a touch to bend the ball past Aaron Ramsdale and into the top corner to give Graham Potter's side the advantage. We upped the tempo after falling behind as we looked to get back on level terms. Granit Xhaka slid in Emile Smith Rowe as our No. 10 went in search of his 11th goal this season, but with the angle tight, his shot couldn't beat Robert Sanchez at the near-post. As the half drew to a close, we fashioned our best moment. Bukayo Saka's late corner picked out Gabriel at the far post whose towering header found Gabriel Martinelli unmarked on the goal line. Our young Brazillian duly headed in to level the scores, but after a lengthy VAR review, it was ruled out for offside. We looked a different side after the break, with Cedric's blocked free-kick the result of a renewed spirit following the restart. A period of domination followed, but tenacious work from Brighton at the back kept the busy Smith Rowe and Odegaard at bay. Mikel Arteta was soon forced to turn to his bench as the clock ticked past the hour mark with Smith Rowe making way for Eddie Nketiah upfront. We kept on coming as Saka's driven effort blazed over the bar, before there was to be further anguish for Mikel Arteta's side. Brighton worked a rare spell of second-half possession into a good chance. Moises Caicedo pulled it back to Mwepu on the edge of the box, who smashed it beyond the outstretched right-hand hand of Ramsdale to double the visitors' lead in the 67th-minute. The final few minutes of the game burst into life as Martin Odegaard's late free-kick was parried into the path of Nketiah who hit the bar from close range. Odegaard then picked the ball up moments later and fired into the top corner from 25-yards to get us back into the contest. With six added minutes, we pushed and pushed but couldn't quite find enough to level the game. The final whistle was greeted with disappointment from the N5 faithful, as we were forced to leave the game empty-handed once again in the Premier League. #arsenal #odegaard Enjoy match highlights, training and behind the scenes to get closer to the likes of Bukayo Saka, Emile Smith Rowe, Vivianne Miedema, Nicolas Pepe, Alexandre Lacazette, Leah Williamson, Bernd Leno, Nikita Parris, Tobin Heath, Mana Iwabuchi, Jordan Nobbs, Takehiro Tomiyasu, Kim Little, Gabriel Martinelli, Aaron Ramsdale, Beth Mead, Ben White, Thomas Partey and more. Aston Villa vs Brighton cannot be streamed live in the UK THE LOWDOWN ASTON VILLA Aston Villa’s 1-0 defeat away at Southampton that left them just points above the drop zone at the end of the weekend was enough for their owners to dismiss manager Dean Smith, with Rangers boss Steven Gerrard appointed as his replacement. Centre-back Ezri Konsa returns from suspension, but Gerrard will be without both Trezeguet and Bertrand Traore and faces an anxious wait regarding the status of Marvelous Nakamba, Douglas Luiz, and striker Danny Ings following his recent bout of COVID-19. BRIGHTON Brighton’s 1-1 draw at home to Newcastle last time out may have kept Graham Potter’s side in the top seven of the Premier League, but also means that they are now winless in their last six league matches. Goalkeeper Robert Sanchez was sent off against the Magpies, therefore he is suspended for the trip to Villa and joins Danny Welbeck, Steven Alzate, and Enock Mwepu on the sidelines, although defender Dan Burn is available. THE TEAM NEWS ASTON VILLA PREDICTED XI (4-2-3-1): Martinez; Cash, Konsa, Mings, Targett; Ramsey, McGinn; Bailey, Buendia, El Ghazi; Watkins UNAVAILABLE: Trezeguet (Injured) QUESTIONABLE: Douglas Luiz (Injured), Ings (Fitness), Nakamba (Injured), Traore (Injured) BRIGHTON PREDICTED XI (3-5-2): Steele; Webster, Duffy, Dunk; Veltman, Gross, Bissouma, Lallana, Cucurella; Maupay, Trossard UNAVAILABLE: Alzate (Injured), Sanchez (Suspended), Welbeck (Injured), Mwepu (Injured) QUESTIONABLE: THE PREDICTION A raucous Villa Park crowd will greet Steven Gerrard in his first game as the new man in charge of Aston Villa and a response is expected from his players against Brighton. Whilst Villa may be on a run of five straight Premier League defeats, so often do you see a new manager bring an immediate upturn in performances as their new ideas on the training ground are reflected on the pitch. Brighton are on a sticky run themselves and run into a Villa side desperate to put in a strong showing in front of their own fans and show why they should be doing far better with the players at their disposal. The return of Konsa especially is a boost and combined with the likelihood of a new manager bounce, this warrants the backing of Aston Villa via the draw no bet market in this one. Tip: ASTON VILLA DRAW NO BET
Enock Mwepu's first Premier League goal was certainly a memorable one! Here is every angle of the midfielder's magnificent strike.
Brighton came from two goals down to secure a deserved point and deny Liverpool victory in an incident-packed game at Anfield. Captain Jordan Henderson fired the Reds ahead from 18 yards moments after Alisson had denied Solly March at the other end following Leandro Trossard's defence-splitting pass. Yves Bissouma, making his first start since 19 September after recovering from a knee injury, then had an effort tipped on to the post before Sadio Mane headed Liverpool into a 2-0 lead after a cross by Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, on for the injured Naby Keita. Brighton's comeback started through Enock Mwepu's first Premier League goal, a stunning attempt from 25 yards which deceived Alisson. Graham Potter's side were impressive and they equalised when Trossard slotted home after an assist by former Liverpool player Adam Lallana. In an entertaining game, Mane and Mohamed Salah both found the back of the net either side of half-time, but both attempts were ruled out for handball and offside respectively. In a tense finale, Brighton thought they had won it when Trossard scored in front of The Kop, but it was ruled out for offside. #lfctv #lfc #redmentv Please Follow my socials below : my ig is :outsideanfield and twitter is :outisdeanfied tick tok is :outsideanfieldtorch liverpoolfantv, liverpool fan tv,kopish post match, redmentv instant match reaction, red men tv instant match reaction,Anfield agenda, liverpool fan interviews, lfctv,Liverpool fan tv best moments,Liverpool fan tv sadio mane,Liverpool fan tv 7-2,kop tv fan cam,kop tv fan interviews, redmentv fan cams, red men tv fan interviews, liverpool fans interviews, kopish live stream, redmentv live, kop tv fan cams, liverpool analysis, don robbie fan cams, fan cams, lfc previews
