Gareth Southgate Responds After Roy Keane Calls Jordan Henderson Call-Up 'Huge Distraction'
England manager Gareth Southgate reacts after Roy Keane called Liverpool captain Jordan Henderson's Euro 2020 call-up a 'huge distraction'. Speaking before Henderson made his comeback from injury in England's 1-0 win over Romania, ex-Manchester United captain Keane said: "I think it's a huge distraction - he's clearly not fit. I don't think he should be involved. If he can't start against Romania, he's not fit. "He's not kicked a ball for three and a half months and he's going to European Championship? He can't be right." Henderson came on at half-time against Romania at the Riverside Stadium for his first appearance since February 20, when he limped out of Liverpool's Merseyside derby defeat to Everton at Anfield. But the Premier League and Champions League-winning skipper was unable to score his first goal for England when he saw a penalty saved. BREAKING: Manchester United vs Liverpool Delayed | Old Trafford Protests
Liverpool’s Premier League visit to Old Trafford has been put into serious doubt following two seperate breaches of security by Manchester United supporters. Protests have been taking place outside Old Trafford as the club’s fans voice their disapproval towards the owners following the failed European Super League plot. The Premier League have taken the step to delay the start of the action with neither side having left their hotels due to the security breach. United fans have been in the stadium and protesting over the club’s ownership, angry with the Glazer family for their part in the attempted launch of the European Super League.
