Belgium fans in Brussels say Italians played better after Euros defeat
#Belgium fans in a Brussels bar said on Friday (July 2) that they were beaten by a better side, as #Italy knocked them out of the #Euro2020 quarter final 2-1. Italy scored twice from Nicolo Barella and Lorenzo Insigne before Belgium's Romelu Lukaku converted a penalty, all before half-time. Both sides had chances to score after the break but Italy held on for a 13th consecutive win to extend their record unbeaten run to 32 games. "I supported Belgium, but it's true that Italy played better. It's hard for me to accept, but it's true," said half-Belgian, half-Italian fan Elena Lavioletta. "I hope Italy will manage to play that well in the next game so they deserve it," she said. With a 100% record, Italy head into their semi-final with Spain confident of reaching a second final in the last three editions of the tournament, having lost 4-0 to their next opponents in the 2012 showpiece match. ........................................................................................ "It's the best day of my life" - Euphoric Chelsea fans celebrate Champions League title in Porto
Elated Chelsea fans left Do Dragao stadium in Porto on Saturday (May 29) evening after the London side beat Manchester City in the Champions League final saying "it was the best day" of their life. Chelsea won their second Champions League title and denied Pep Guardiola's Manchester City their first after Kai Havertz grabbed a first-half goal to secure a 1-0 win in Saturday's all-English final at the Estadio Do Dragao. "There is no word in this planet to describe how every Chelsea soul out there, in there, feels," said a Chelsea fan after leaving the stadium. The German youngster, Chelsea's record signing, kept his composure as he raced through and evaded goalkeeper Ederson before rolling the ball into an empty net in the 42nd minute to decide a tight encounter played in front of a 16,500 crowd.
