Watch here my full winning 🥇 performance from the Ultimate Pole Championship that Ultimate Pole UK hosted on the 31st of October 2021. This very big day was the proof I needed that anyone can achieve their dream step by step. This step was the first of many to follow.🤩 On stage my nerves really got me, of course, and had a lot of mishaps, but this is life after all.😉 And that's what my routine was all about. A very warm thank you to my first Pole Teacher Maria Christina and the instructors in Ultimate Pole. Also a big thank you to Zaki Musa for that crazy-ass combo he taught us in one of his classes! For this very first time on stage I chose to let it all out and narrate a story that is very personal to me. Read below the voice over lyrics that I recorded over this genius and magical track 🎵🎶 "Original Artizanat" by Argatu 🎙️ Do you remember the day you were born? Me neither Exiting the womb of the earth and starting to crawl till you walk, run, climb, grow wings and fly. Do you remember the first time they chained your wings? I do. You'll have to speak like this, you have to sound like this, you have to wear this. You're a man, you're a woman, you can't eat this. Why don't you understand?! Are you stupid?! Do you remember the first time you felt drowning in the voices in your head telling you who you should be? How to live and how to breath? Well I choose to shut my ears, close my eyes. Open my mouth and scream I'm just a monkey! And all I want to do is fly!!
It’s a good day for a BIKE & BUILD BOOTCAMP! This workout includes both cycle & strength, the DREAM TEAM! I absolutely love the combination of cycling and strength and I hope you enjoy it and see the huge improvements and benefits that I have! This 30 min workout is structured to include 20 minutes of HIIT style training on the bike & 10 minutes of upper body & ab work with dumbbells on the floor. For the bike work, to maximize the HIIT style, it will be important to work at a high intensity & then allow for a short recovery before pushing again. For the floor work with dumbbells, we will do exercises that build your muscular endurance! The muscles we target are shoulders, triceps, back, biceps, chest, abs, and obliques! The weight that you want to use for this workout is a moderate weight, I used 5kg/10lbs for each weight. We want to BUILD those muscles! Things to remember during the weight portion, focus on proper form, we are working on the beat, but if you need a slower pace, take it — this is your time so make the most of it! ⭐️ Shimano IC3 indoor cycling shoes here! The Aiki Dojo Podcast - Aikido in Your Daily Life This episode of the Aiki Dojo podcast answers a listener question. Listener Miriam references a passage from Furuya Sensei’s book Kodo: "Today, in our fast-paced world, I think students of martial arts need to plunge deeper into their training. It is not that training needs to be more intense, but that training should pervade our whole lives.” Miriam asks, "How have you applied this in daily life throughout your years in Aikido?” Ito Sensei relates how Aikido has permeated in his daily life and how a good student can’t help but let it bleed over into their off the mat lives. The Aiki Dojo Podcast goal is to translate traditional Aikido and traditional martial arts training into the modern world. The podcast is hosted by David Ito Sensei who is the Chief Instructor of the Aikido Center of Los Angeles and he brings brings over 30 years of Aikido training to the podcast. This is part one of a 10 video SUP instructor training course. For more information on how to become a fully certified SUP instructor: https://www.blueplanetsurf.com/psupa-instructor-certification.html The PSUPA Flatwater Level 1 Certification covers the skills you need to teach both a 1- and 2-hour basic SUP class confidently and safely. The curriculum emphasizes water safety, leadership, and teaching risk management and rescue procedures. You also have the option to learn the basics of running a SUP business. Certification is awarded upon completing the course within 6 months. This includes passing all tests and achieving a satisfactory evaluation of your teaching, leadership skills and attention to safety. You will receive a PSUPA Certified Instructors Manual that covers everything covered in the course and more. This certification is a prerequisite for all other PSUPA Certifications. The classroom portion of this course consists of 10 prerecorded Zoom video training sessions (approximately 12 hours total) from a class led by PSUPA Master Instructor Trainer, Robert Stehlik, who is also the owner of Blue Planet Surf, located in Honolulu, Hawaii. Upon completion of the self paced video portion and passing the on-line test, candidates will spend a day on the water with one of our I.T.s to demonstrate the skills and procedures discussed along their ability to lead. The videos cover the information in the PSUPA Flatwater1 Instructor manual and will give you the information need to pass the on-line test and prepare you for the 1 day water portion of the course. The candidate is responsible for managing their own logistics for getting the “On-Water” portion of the course completed. Including, but not limited to: Scheduling, Location, Travel & Equipment costs. (note: PSUPA can provide IT referrals for your area, but cannot guarantee, price or availability). Curriculum Water safety - which covers (among other things): emergency preparedness and rescue techniques Interpretation of weather and water conditions On-water group management and communication Leadership skills Teaching concepts and techniques How to teach the basic elements of stand up paddling Approaches to teaching students of varying ages, abilities, skill levels, and limitations Lesson formats and preparation Methods of teaching basic paddling techniques SUP gear and equipment overview Additional add-on course available on request: SUP Business - which covers business models and procedures, including how to start a business, insurance requirements, marketing, pricing and hiring instructors. The Aiki Dojo Podcast - The Martial Mindset In this episode of the Aiki Dojo podcast we discusses a question from one of our viewers. She asks, “Could you talk about body (physical) mind and spirit in Aikido? Focused more on back in the old days about how samurai took care of themselves and stayed prepared for war and chaos.” Thus, the basic answer is really more about the mindset that a warrior has which keeps them prepared and sharp at all times. The Aiki Dojo Podcast goal is to translate traditional Aikido and traditional martial arts training into the modern world. So editing this video kicked my ass, because it turned out to be pretty huge. Regardles, I'm pretty happy with the result, since different origin stories of the messer keep circulating without any proper scholarship to back them up. In this video I tried to convey what I know of the subject, trying to seperate myth from what can be found in sources, as well as providing a list of sources used (in the comments, because Youtube doesn't allow long vid descriptions). Enjoy!
