Rajasekhara Reddy ACA-VDCA Cricket Stadium in Visakhapatnam. The 'Moving Day' lived up to expectations as the game ebbed and flowed to leave us with all four results possible with two days remaining in the Test. Considering England's 'Bazball' approach it will not be a surprise if the Test does not go into the fifth day and we get the result on Day 4 itself. On the other hand England will fancy their chances of chasing this mountain of a target going into Day 4. On Day 3 it was all set up by James Anderson in the first half hour before the spinners came to the fore to not let the game drift away from them. Although the visitors lost Ben Duckett before the close of the play and there are doubts over Joe Root's participation due to a finger injury England have ample firepower in the shed to get the remaining 332 runs. The first hour will be pivotal and could heavily influence the outcome of the Test. Who will blink first on Day 4? India's outing on Day 3 was headlined by Shubman Gill but the rest of the batting unit's performances left a lot to be desired. At one stage in the game on the third day they looked to be on course to take their lead over 400 but a bizarre passage of play after Tea saw their innings meander and eventually they were bowled out setting England a target of 399. The hosts have the runs on the board but will still be wary of England's ability to pull off big chases. Given their efforts with the ball in the first inning Rohit Sharma and his men start as slight favourites to win the Test from here more so with the surface expected to deteriorate. India's centurion of the second inning Shubman is in for a chat. He says that it was a good effort today but they could gotten more runs on the board. He talks about the early LBW review going his favour which gave him confidence. He mentions that wicket an easy one bat as the odd ball is keeping some them turning sharp. He ends saying that his father comes to watch most games he actually feels good when he is there watching. When asked about the situation of the game he responds by saying that it still looks 70-30 in favour of India but England have batting to chase. We have seen a couple of balls with some variable bounce off spinners and seamers. When you land the ball short of a good length there is a huge crack amongst all of the cracks. It was an extraordinary day of Test match cricket as ball dominated the bat yesterday. India get the first-innings lead. It was the pace bowler's paradise as 23 wickets fell on the first day for 270 runs. At the end of it all the Test match is nicely poised with India having their slight noses in front but South Africa are not out of it by any means. Today's play will be crucial for both sides. Let's recap you how day 1 panned out. The Proteas lost de Zorzi and Stubbs cheaply. It was South African skipper Dean Elgar who won the toss and elected to bat first on a challenging surface. Little did he know what was to follow thereafter. South Africa were blown away by a certain Mohammed Siraj as wickets fell at regular intervals. Only two players crossed double digits in David Bedingham. Kyle Verreynne as they scored 12 and 15 respectively. The rest of them fell for single digits as South Africa were bowled out for 55 in the first session of play in 23.2 overs. Mohammed Siraj was the star of the show with figures of 6/15 in 9 overs. Mukesh Kumar picked up a couple of wickets in his 2.2 overs. While Jasprit Bumrah picked up a couple of wickets for 25 runs in 8 overs. Only 4 bowlers were required to be used by the Indians. In reply India lost Yashasvi Jaiswal for a duck. Shubman Gill and skipper Rohit Sharma built a partnership of 55 runs for the second wicket with Rohit scoring 39 off 50 balls while Shubman Gill scored 36 off 55 balls. Both getting starts and getting out. Virat Kohli came in and looked at ease as he held the innings together with his 46 off 59 balls and top scored in the innings. India were 153/4 at one stage but then shockingly lost 6 wickets for 0 runs in a span of 12 balls to be bowled out for 153 with an overall lead of 98 runs. Wickets were shared by the South African pacers. Kagiso Rabada Lungi Ngidi and Nandre Burger all picked up three wickets apiece while there was a run out in the innings as well.
