California Post’s Dodgers reporters Jack Harris and Dylan Hernandez are at Dodgers Stadium and hitting the panic button after the team’s 9-3 loss to the Giants. Going back to April 21, the Dodgers are 25th in batting, hitting 11% below league average, raising concerns that this sort of slump could also happen in the post-season. In their Dodgers podcast, Dylan and Jack call out the struggles of Shohei Ohtani, who has 4 hits in his last 38 at-bats. They watched the superstar hit a ball out of the stadium in batting practice, then go 0-5 against San Francisco. The guys, of course, talk Roki Sasaki again, but are not quite ready to nickname him the Roki-coaster. Jack and Dylan then check receipts on their predictions from the week prior, and they are struggling just as much as the Dodgers. Dylan nails his Does Dylan Know the Dodgers question, but Jack is not as lucky with Dylan’s greatest reporting hits. Max Muncy discussed the Dodgers’ continued offensive struggles after another frustrating loss to the Giants. Muncy admitted the Dodgers are currently in a team-wide “funk” offensively, especially when it comes to cashing in scoring opportunities. “We’re creating situations… we’re just not getting a hit here or there.” The Dodgers slugger also discussed: Players trying to do too much in big moments Veterans holding conversations behind closed doors Why the team is trying not to overreact The importance of simplifying at-bats Staying mentally clear during difficult stretches Trusting the Dodgers’ championship experience Believing the offense will eventually break through Muncy emphasized that while the Dodgers know the situation looks rough right now, the clubhouse remains confident because they’ve overcome stretches like this before. “We’re back-to-back champions for a reason.” He also pointed to positive signs including Mookie Betts returning, Teoscar Hernández getting on base multiple times, and improved situational hitting despite the final result. “There’s going to be a stretch coming soon where everything we touch finds grass.” ドジャース -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Please subscribe and hit that notification bell to stay up to date on all the latest Dodgers news, rumors, interviews, live streams, and more! The Los Angeles Dodgers reinstated shortstop Mookie Betts and have him in the lineup for their series opener against the San Francisco Giants. The Dodgers have struggled for offense over the past several weeks, and will hope Betts can provide a boost to their lineup amid their team-wide slump. LA scored three runs or fewer in each of their three games against the Atlanta Braves in their last series, and only won one of them. Roki Sasaki will take the mound for the Dodgers, and the right-hander is surely ready to go after getting some extra rest. The Dodgers listed Sasaki as their probable pitcher for Saturday’s game, but moved him to a Monday start and gave Blake Snell the start instead after his return from the injured list. The rest will hopefully do Sasaki well, as he has struggled through his first handful of starts in 2026. He has a 5.97 ERA after six appearances, striking out 26 batters in 28.2 innings pitched. He has been strong through the first couple of innings of his starts, but tends to run into trouble during his second time through the order. Only one of his 19 earned runs this season has come in the first two innings of a ballgame. Shohei Ohtani will lead off for the Dodgers as their designated hitter and look to break out of the slump he’s been riding, and Betts will bat second in his return to the lineup. First baseman Freddie Freeman makes room for Betts and moves down to the three hole, while right fielder Kyle Tucker bats in the cleanup spot. Catcher Will Smith drops down the lineup to fifth with Betts back in the lineup, and third baseman Max Muncy will bat sixth. Center fielder Andy Pages bats seventh for the Dodgers, followed by left fielder Teoscar Hernandez and second baseman Hyseong Kim. 1. Shohei Ohtani, DH 2. Mookie Betts, SS 3. Freddie Freeman, 1B 4. Kyle Tucker, RF 5. Will Smith, C 6. Max Muncy, 3B 7. Andy Pages, CF 8. Teoscar Hernandez, LF 9. Hyeseong Kim, 2B P. Roki Sasaki, RHP Right-hander Trevor McDonald will start for the Giants, making his second start of the season for San Francisco. He began the season in the minors for the Giants, but came up May 4 for a start against the San Diego Padres, where he threw seven innings of one-run baseball and allowed just two hits. The 25-year-old ranks as their No. 16 prospect, and will look to further solidify himself in their rotation. The first game of the three-game series begins Monday at 7:10 p.m. PT. This Dodgers vs. Giants rivalry slideshow turns one of baseball’s biggest matchups into a full meme-war victory lap. The video is built around Dodgers supremacy over San Francisco, using cyberpunk scoreboard graphics, graffiti text, comic-book action, “game over” trash-talk energy, broom visuals, checkmate symbolism, pest-control jokes, warning labels, and orange-crushed imagery. Shohei Ohtani and the Dodgers are framed as the unstoppable force, while the Giants are turned into the punchline through exaggerated sports-meme visuals. Welcome back to the channel, Dodgers fans! Today we’ve got the rubber match between the Los Angeles Dodgers and the Atlanta Braves, and this one comes with a MAJOR storyline before first pitch even begins. 👉 The Dodgers are resting TWO key stars for the series finale. After getting dominated 7-2 by Atlanta on Saturday night, the Dodgers are making some lineup adjustments as they try to bounce back and secure the series win at Dodger Stadium. This game has: A huge pitching matchup Key lineup changes Young players getting opportunities And serious momentum implications heading into the next stretch of the season Let’s break everything down. 🔵 DODGERS STARTING LINEUP The Dodgers are giving two regular stars the day off: 👉 Teoscar Hernández is out 👉 Will Smith is also resting That means some new faces step into bigger roles for the finale. (dodgersnation.com ) Here’s the Dodgers lineup: Shohei Ohtani – DH Freddie Freeman – 1B Andy Pages – CF Kyle Tucker – RF Max Muncy – 3B Alex Call – LF Dalton Rushing – C Hyeseong Kim – SS Alex Freeland – 2B Starting Pitcher: Justin Wrobleski (LHP) This lineup definitely looks different without Teoscar and Will Smith — but it also gives younger players a huge opportunity to step up. 🚨 BIG STORY: JUSTIN WROBLESKI HAS BEEN INCREDIBLE Honestly? Justin Wrobleski has quietly become one of the Dodgers’ biggest surprises this season. Coming into today: 5-0 record 1.25 ERA through 36 innings (dodgersnation.com ) Dodgers have not lost one of his starts That’s unbelievable production from someone who started the year as rotation depth. And now? 👉 He gets a massive test against one of baseball’s best lineups. ⚾ PITCHING MATCHUP 🔵 Dodgers: Justin Wrobleski Wrobleski doesn’t overpower hitters with strikeouts… But he’s been elite at: limiting damage controlling contact keeping games calm and under control He’s allowed only two total runs over his first five starts this season. That’s ace-level production. 🔴 Braves: Bryce Elder Atlanta counters with Bryce Elder, who has also been excellent. 2.02 ERA this season Consistently pitching at least six innings Coming off a strong outing against Seattle This feels like a classic: 👉 pitch-to-contact duel. Runs may be hard to come by. 🔥 DODGERS LOOKING TO RESPOND AFTER TOUGH LOSS Saturday night was rough for LA. Blake Snell struggled in his season debut Spencer Strider dominated the Dodgers lineup Braves won 7-2 convincingly The Dodgers managed just: one hit through six innings two total runs, both coming on an Andy Pages homer in the ninth That’s why today matters. This is about: winning the series regaining momentum avoiding another offensive collapse 🌟 BIG OPPORTUNITY FOR YOUNG PLAYERS With Teoscar Hernández and Will Smith resting: 👉 Alex Call and Dalton Rushing get big opportunities. These are the kinds of games where role players can become heroes. Especially Dalton Rushing. Dodgers fans have been excited about his future for a while now, and today gives him another chance to prove he belongs at this level. 🔥 LIKE this video if you love Dodgers baseball 🔥 COMMENT your pick — Dodgers or Cardinals? 🔥 SUBSCRIBE for more Live Reaction, MLB, and baseball content!
