However executing an Anthony Davis to the Celtics transaction comes with massive salary cap hurdles that could destroy the current roster depth. Because Davis has a massive contract exceeding fifty eight million dollars Boston would likely have to sacrifice Jaylen Brown or a massive package including Derrick White and Sam Hauser and Payton Pritchard just to make the math work. Giving up reliable perimeter depth and core pieces for an aging and injury prone big man with a massive player option could be a huge mistake for a team trying to stay in championship contention.
