It's the Master 💛 versus the Apprentice 💙 at the clash of clashes in the 16th edition of the IPL. The iconic Narendra Modi Stadium Ahmedabad will be staging today's main event clash. MS Dhoni is all set to play his 250th IPL match. Wherever CSK have played this year there's been a sea of yellow in the crowd. Dhoni who's hobbled through the season is yet to decide whether he'll come back next year. No batter other than Gill is in the list of top 20 batters in this season. The fact that Hardik is second in the run scorer’s list and has scored 325 runs in total shows you that Gill has been on a different level. Their designated finishers Miller and Tewatia have had less game time and if the CSK bowlers manage to dismantle GT’s top order quickly it will be a stern test for them. The pressure of a finale can make even the best susceptible. What can perhaps worry CSK? A team that finished second after the league stages and then made it straight to the final generally don’t have too many weaknesses. However the success of their top-order has meant the middle order has had very little batting. The likes of Moeen Ali Ambati Rayudu and even Dhoni have had very little to do this season and a final would be a bad time for this franchise to lose 2-3 quick wickets. Secondly barring Deepak Chahar and Jadeja none of their bowlers have played an IPL final or even a game of this magnitude.
