No. 12 Florida Gators vs. No. 13 Mississippi State Bulldogs - Highlights | 2026 SEC Women’s Basketball Tournament First Round | 3/4/2026 Liv McGill posted a near triple-double with 22 points, 10 assists and seven rebounds, Me’Arah O’Neal added 22 points, and No. 12 seed Florida rolled past Mississippi State 86–68 in the first round of the SEC Women’s Basketball Tournament on Wednesday in Greenville, South Carolina. The Gators led from start to finish and secured the largest margin of victory in program history in an SEC Tournament game. Florida (18–14) controlled the game despite a slow shooting start, finishing 28-of-56 from the field while converting 22-of-28 free throws (79%). O’Neal sparked the offense with three second-quarter 3-pointers that helped Florida push its lead to double digits for good. After Mississippi State trimmed the deficit to eight early in the quarter, O’Neal answered with a three that made it 24–13 with 8:30 remaining in the half, beginning a stretch where the Gators steadily pulled away. Mississippi State (18–13), which has now lost five straight games, struggled to find rhythm offensively and committed nine turnovers in the first quarter while falling behind 21–11. Favour Nwaedozi recorded her 15th double-double of the season with 12 points and 10 rebounds to lead the Bulldogs, while Destiney McPhaul added 12 points and six assists. Freshman Madison Francis scored nine points before fouling out after 17 minutes of action. Florida’s balanced offense and strong free-throw shooting helped the Gators maintain control throughout the second half, continuing their recent success in the series after also defeating Mississippi State 71–56 on Feb. 19. Mississippi State now awaits a potential postseason invitation, while Florida advances to face No. 7 Oklahoma, the tournament’s No. 5 seed, in the second round on Thursday. 🚨 Subscribe → https://www.youtube.com/@SEC 🎥 Watch more SEC Women’s Basketball Highlights → https://youtube.com/playlist?list=PLwtCoGcMK22qIHzdnXBJOfJCHnN_K5c36&si=g8_i-WYWcCNQxZSD 💻 More SEC Women’s Basketball Content → https://www.secsports.com 🌐 SEC Social https://www.instagram.com/sec http://twitter.com/sec https://www.tiktok.com/@sec http://facebook.com/secsports #SEC #SECTournament #FloridaWBB #MississippiStateWBB #Gators #HailState #WomensBasketball #CollegeBasketball #Highlights #SECNetwork #ESPN
