USCFootball.com interns Nicole Shearin and Anthony Gharib provide Instant Analysis following No. 21 USC's 67-64 win over No. 12 UCLA inside a sold out Galen Center. Playing in a raucous environment, the Trojans won their fifth straight in the Crosstown Showdown rivalry -- their longest streak since World War II -- behind stout defense and a career night from Drew Peterson.
Playing without star forward Isaiah Mobley, No. 21 USC men's basketball was able to overcome a first half deficit to earn its 20th win of the season, a 74-68 triumph over visiting Pacific on Tuesday, February 8th in Los Angeles. Harrison Hornery was a spark off the bench for USC, scoring nine points and collecting six rebounds. While the Trojans did survive Pacific, they will have to play better this weekend when they host crosstown rival No. 12 UCLA. Catch that game on Saturday, February 12th at 7:00 p.m. PT on ESPN.
VCU Men's Basketball Head Coach Mike Rhoades, as well as players Vince Williams Jr. and Hason Ward, discuss the Rams' 64-62 win at crosstown rival Richmond.
In the opening eight minutes of a crosstown battle, Mary Star High girls basketball guard Angela Pisano would show why she was among the greatest to ever play for the gold and blue. Against neighbor Port Of Los Angeles on January 7, 2016 at Peck Park, Pisano would score 19 points on 9-of-12 shooting from the field and 1-of-2 free throws, scoring 17 unanswered points on her own to end the quarter during Mary Star's game- breaking 39-0 run en route to a 62-14 victory. Pisano, who hit all these nine shots in succession after missing her first three, only played two minutes in the remaining three quarters and never attempted another shot, but she didn't need to after this dominant first quarter showing where everything seemed to fall into place. #TBT
