Former Cincinnati alumni, rookie who started this season as a pro in Lithuanian Basketball League. Simonas "Simas" Lukosius is a Lithuanian-German professional basketball player who cemented his name in European basketball history in 2026. After a notable collegiate career in the United States, he returned to Lithuania to lead Rytas Vilnius to their first-ever continental title. In what is now known as a "miracle" comeback, Rytas Vilnius overcame a 20-point deficit against AEK Athens to win 92-86 in overtime. Despite generating just three hits against Arizona starter Merrill Kelly, Mets manager Carlos Mendoza felt his team had pitches to hit but didn't take advantage of it in their 2-1 loss to the Diamondbacks. Mendoza thought starter Clay Holmes pitched in tough luck with his only mistake was allowing a two-run single in the third inning.
