Let's Goo Football Lovers https://youtube.com/channel/UCDOdXiT4ACKE2D8g9SNTYPQ Xherdan Shaqiri scored two superb goals as Switzerland secured third place in Group A at Euro 2020 with a 3-1 win over Turkey, but they now face an anxious wait to see if they will reach the last 16. The Swiss, who finished level on four points with Wales but behind on goal difference, will hope to secure a spot in the knockouts as one of the four best third-placed finishers from the six groups. Turkey, who finished fourth with three defeats, were tipped pre-tournament as dark horses, but will head home after a dismal effort in the group stage. The game encapsulated Turkey's tournament, as they began full of fire and fury and started at a scintillating pace, only to collapse quickly as Switzerland outmanoeuvred them tactically to take an early lead. The Swiss took the lead when Haris Seferovic received a pass from Steven Zuber on the edge of the area before rifling the ball into the bottom right corner in the sixth minute. Exasperated, Turkey regrouped and tried again, but they went 2-0 when Zuber found Shaqiri in a similar position, and he curled an exquisite shot beyond the despairing dive of Ugurcan Cakir 20 minutes later. Turkey had their chances, but Swiss keeper Yann Sommer made a string of superb first-half saves as they searched for their first goal of the tournament. Irfan Kahveci salvaged some pride for the Turks in the 62nd minute with a spectacular strike from distance to reduce the deficit, but their shortcomings were shown up again when Shaqiri fired home to complete a surging counter-attack. With Shaqiri withdrawn, Granit Xhaka hit a post with a free kick as Switzerland continued to chase the goals that might have enabled them to take second spot, but to no avail. For Turkey it was a dispiriting end to the as their talent-filled squad proved toothless in attack, in stark contrast to an effective Swiss outfit that may just live to fight another day.

Wales captain Gareth Bale set up Aaron Ramsey and Connor Roberts to score for a 2-0 victory over Turkey in their Group A match at Baku's Olympic Stadium on Wednesday to take a big step towards qualifying for the European Championship knockout stages. Ramsey failed to convert two chances early in the first half but scored just before halftime when he made a run through the middle to chest down Bale's perfect ball over the defence and slip it past the goalkeeper. Wales could have doubled the lead at the hour mark when Bale was tripped by Zeki Celik and awarded a penalty, but the Welsh skipper skied his effort after a stuttering run up. Wales scored right at the death in injury time when a corner was played short and Connor Roberts was on hand to divert a Bale pass past goalkeeper Ugurcan Cakir to seal the victory. "I'm delighted with the win. We fought hard, we worked our socks off like we always do," Bale said after the game, adding that his contributions compensated for the penalty miss. The surprise semi-finalists of Euro 2016 now have four points, after drawing with Switzerland in their opener. Their final game is against Italy next week. Turkey take on the Swiss. Ramsey was twice picked out by Bale with superb defence-splitting passes but both times he failed to score, with Cakır denying him from a tight angle in the sixth minute and then thundering a shot over the bar in the 24th. There was nothing lucky about the third time with Bale floating a superbly-timed cross in the 42nd minute for Ramsey who brought the ball down perfectly and slotted under Cakir. With Turkish and Azeri Presidents Tayyip Erdogan and Ilham Aliyev in the stands, Turkey upped the pace after the break. Captain Burat Yilmaz, who had missed a good chance in the first half, should have scored 10 minutes after the restart when he was left completely unmarked in front of the Welsh goal but blazed a volley from three metres out well over the crossbar. Wales found space to counter attack and Ramsey's low shot was blocked before Bale was brought down just inside the box to earn a spot kick on the hour. But the 31-year-old's effort flew high and wide to keep the Turks in the game, who then forced a good save from keeper Danny Ward when he punched a Merih Demiral header wide in the 87th. With the Turks having run out of steam in stoppage time, Bale cut inside to feed Roberts for their second goal. "We're in a fantastic position now. If you'd offered us 4 points at the start, we'd have bitten your hand off," Bale said, paying tribute to Welsh fans who were heavily outnumbered by Turks in the stadium.
Please Guys Help me Reach 1k It Would Mean the world to me 🙏🏻 This time we won't stop Posting. Let's Goo Football Lovers https://youtube.com/channel/UCDOdXiT4ACKE2D8g9SNTYPQ Italy rode three second-half goals to a 3-0 win over Turkey in Group A of the opening match of the 2020 European Championship in Rome on Friday. Postponed by a year, the biggest footballing event since the coronavirus brought the world to a halt kicked off Friday at the Stadio Olimpico -- a milestone both for European and world sports. Roberto Mancini's Italy came into the match on a 27-match unbeaten run and their fine form showed early on as the Azzurri dominated possession and went close with a pair of headers from corner kicks just past the 20-minute mark. Italy ratcheted up the pressure as half-time approached and, after some intricate build-up play, Ciro Immobile was sprung in the box only to fire right at Turkey keeper Ugurcan Cakir as the teams went into the break locked in a 0-0 draw. "We have played many teams that have done what Turkey did this evening. They put everyone [back] there, give you little space and make it hard for you to score," said Mancini. "But the lads had patience. We waited, kept playing, tried to get that goal, then we got it. The lads did really well. The first half wasn't straightforward and in a game like that, even if they [Turkey] put everyone back, if you give one [goal] away on the break, the game changes," The pressure on the Turkish defence finally told when Merih Demiral inadvertently chested the ball into his own net from a Domenico Berardi cross and Italy took the lead shortly after the restart. A goalmouth scramble led to Italy's second, with Immobile pouncing on a loose ball in front of the Turkish goal and firing home to double the advantage of Mancini's side. Lorenzo Insigne put the game away for Italy in the 79th minute, curling home a beautiful first-time shot after Turkey's Cakir hooked a goal kick right to the opposing side and Italy pounced for their third. Italy's third goal made history as it marked the first time they had scored three goals in a match at the Euros in their 39th attempt. "It was important to start well here in Rome and it is a joy for us and for all the Italians," Mancini told Rai. "It was a great evening, I hope there will be many more, but there are still six to go before Wembley". Turkey will face Wales next in Group A action, while Italy play Switzerland, with both games played on Wednesday, June 16. After a build-up featuring a spine-tingling performance from opera singer Andrea Bocelli, a spectacular fireworks display and a typically raucous rendition of Italy's national anthem, the 16,000-strong crowd was in fine voice by kick-off. Italy were determined to make a strong start five years on from their last major tournament appearance, having failed to qualify for the 2018 World Cup, and they started strongly. The visitors were happy to sit deep and invite pressure and rarely ventured into the Italian half throughout the opening period, but Mancini's side were left frustrated in their efforts to break through the wall of red shirts. Giorgio Chiellini had a header tipped over with a spectacular one-handed save by Cakir and Immobile nodded a cross wide as the hosts stretched the Turkish defence. Insigne curled a shot straight at Cakir from the edge of the box and Immobile fired into the keeper's arms as Italy headed in at the break with 14 attempts to none from Turkey. Italy's patience was rewarded when Berardi fired a cross into the six-yard box where Demiral chested the ball into the net -- the first time in European Championship history that the tournament's opening goal was an own goal. The Azzurri's dominance was rewarded again when Immobile threaded a pass to Insigne, who placed a precise finish into the bottom corner with 11 minutes remaining. Mancini told his players in the pre-match press conference that they should enjoy themselves and seek to entertain, and that was exactly what they did for a jubilant home crowd.
