There’s a strange Michael Jordan theory taking over the internet and the more you watch his old highlights, the weirder they start to look. A viral clip of MJ reaching for a basketball recently had fans questioning the footage because his arm appeared to stretch an almost impossible distance, adding fuel to posts claiming Jordan’s movements sometimes look more like a video game or AI than a real human being. Of course, there’s no evidence Michael Jordan wasn’t completely real, but his ridiculous athleticism, hang time, body control, huge hands and seemingly impossible finishes have made old-school Bulls footage perfect for this creepy internet theory. And somehow his real life gets even stranger: when Jordan was only around five or six years old, he accidentally struck his big toe with an axe while chopping wood barefoot, an accident that left him missing part of the toe. Barack Obama even told the story while awarding Jordan the Presidential Medal of Freedom, joking that basketball history could have looked completely different if the accident had been worse. Yet Jordan went on to become a Chicago Bulls icon, six-time NBA champion, six-time Finals MVP, five-time NBA MVP, 10-time scoring champion and one of the most influential athletes ever, producing legendary moments like The Shot, the 63-point playoff game in Boston, the switch-hands layup, the Flu Game, the 1998 Last Shot and countless dunks that still barely look physically possible. Andy Ruiz Jr. vs Luis “King Kong” Ortiz was an explosive heavyweight showdown featuring three knockdowns, huge punches, dramatic momentum swings, and 12 rounds of high-level heavyweight boxing. In these Andy Ruiz vs Luis Ortiz fight highlights, watch two dangerous heavyweight contenders collide in a battle where a single punch could change everything. Former unified heavyweight champion Andy “The Destroyer” Ruiz Jr. entered the ring looking to prove that he remained one of the most dangerous fighters in the heavyweight division. Across from him stood the experienced Cuban southpaw Luis “King Kong” Ortiz, a veteran contender known for his tremendous punching power, technical ability, and dangerous left hand. What followed was a fascinating clash of styles—and one of the most memorable heavyweight fights of Ruiz's career. 🔥 THREE KNOCKDOWNS. TWELVE ROUNDS. ONE HEAVYWEIGHT WAR. Ruiz immediately demonstrated why his hand speed and counterpunching ability are so dangerous for heavyweight opponents. Despite being the shorter fighter, Ruiz possessed the ability to explode forward with incredibly fast combinations and powerful counters. The biggest moment of the early fight came in Round 2, when Ruiz caught Ortiz with a clean right hand that sent the Cuban heavyweight to the canvas. The knockdown came suddenly, demonstrating Ruiz's ability to capitalize on even the smallest opening. But Ruiz wasn't finished. Ortiz went down again in the same round, giving Ruiz two knockdowns in Round 2. The second knockdown was officially counted, although contemporary reports noted that it appeared to involve more of a push. For a moment, it looked as though the fight could end early. But Luis Ortiz showed exactly why he had earned the nickname “King Kong.” Despite being hurt and knocked down twice, Ortiz got back to his feet and continued fighting. He used his long jab, southpaw stance, movement, and left hand to regain control of the fight and force Ruiz to work for every opportunity. Instead of folding under Ruiz's pressure, Ortiz began finding his rhythm. 🥊 THE HEAVYWEIGHT WAR CONTINUES As the fight progressed, Ortiz demonstrated his boxing ability and experience. His jab helped establish distance while his movement made it more difficult for Ruiz to land his explosive counters. Ruiz, meanwhile, remained patient. Rather than simply charging forward looking for another knockout, Ruiz waited for Ortiz to commit and attempted to counter him with powerful right hands. That patience paid off again in Round 7. Ruiz found another opening and connected with a devastating right hand that sent Ortiz to the canvas for the third and final knockdown of the fight. Three knockdowns against a fighter as experienced and dangerous as Ortiz demonstrated just how effective Ruiz's combination of speed, timing, accuracy, and power could be. But once again, Ortiz survived. 💥 THE FINAL ROUNDS With both fighters knowing that the fight could still change with one huge heavyweight punch, the final rounds became a battle of patience, endurance, and survival. Ruiz continued looking for opportunities to land his fast combinations and right hand counters. Ortiz continued pressing forward with his jab and left hand, refusing to surrender despite having been knocked down three times. By the time the final bell sounded, both heavyweights had been tested. After 12 rounds, the judges awarded Andy Ruiz Jr. a unanimous decision victory, with official scores of 114-111, 114-111, and 113-112. The three knockdowns ultimately made the difference on the scorecards. The fight is also a great example of why heavyweight boxing is so unpredictable. Even when one fighter appears to be controlling the action, everything can change with a single punch. Ruiz demonstrated that perfectly. His hand speed allowed him to land punches before Ortiz could fully react, while his timing enabled him to capitalize on Ortiz's movements. His three knockdowns showed that his power remained a major factor at heavyweight. Ortiz, however, demonstrated tremendous toughness and veteran experience. Being knocked down three times and still making it to the final bell against a former unified champion is a testament to his durability and determination.
