Lion King's Last Dance, Incheon Does It Again, Honoring Kim Nam-chun

We start this week’s show with a heavy heart honoring the late Kim Nam-chun. Kim was found in his apartment on October 30th from an apparent suicide according to police. A ceremony was held in his honor the following day at Seoul World Cup Stadium to pay tribute to him ahead of the FC Seoul’s game with Incheon United. In speaking with his teammates and seeing the outpouring of love on social media over the weekend, it’s clear Kim was a popular member of FC Seoul and with other players around the league who he had spent time with at Sangju. All of us at K League United send our most sincerest condolences to Kim Nam-chun's family, friends, and teammates in this difficult time. May he rest in peace. After a break, Ryan Walters is joined by regular co-hosts Matthew Binns and Peter Hampshire to put a lid on the 2020 K League 1 season. They start with Final A where Jeonbuk was once again crowned champions for a record-breaking fourth straight time. The three go over just how wrong their pre-season predictions were, the biggest surprise in Final A, biggest disappointment, and look into the future and guess whether each team will finish higher or lower in 2021. Ryan, Matt, and Peter rinse and repeat for Final B where both Incheon and Seongnam won back to back games to end the season on a high and avoid relegation. After answering a few early mailbag questions about Incheon's chances of avoiding the same story next season and Busan's need to rebuild, Paul Neat joins in with an interview with Incheon United's Stefan Mugoša. They discuss the Mariners pulling off another dramatic escape, off season plans, and what's next for the Montenegrin striker. After a brief FA Cup Final preview, the hosts hop into the Eulji Lewis Mailbag. Questions range from what's next for Ulsan to Jeju's chances back in K1, and touch on former U22 players options next season. All that and more in this edition of the K League United Podcast!
