Ice Hockey Men's semifinals game 1 RUS vs CAN - 28th Winter Universiade 2017, Almaty, Kazakhstan

ALMATY – 7 February, Russia beat Canada in ice hockey and will compete in final Ice Hockey. Men. Semifinal. Russia – Canada – 4:1 (1:0, 1:0, 2:1) At the first period the Russian players pointed 9 shots into the net of Kevin Bailie (Canadian goaltender). Stanislav Zabornikov was the leader of the attacks. The Canadian players tried to pointed shots 4 times. Artyom Osipov scored one more goal on the 26th minute of the second period (2:0). Canadian players became more active (7 shots) then they were in the first period but failed to score a goal. At the third period the advantage of the Russian players became evident. They managed to point 16 shots against 5 pointed by the Canadian players. Such an advantage affected the results. Russia scored two more goals (55 min and 59 min). The Canadian team scored just one goal. 15 sec before the final horn Guillaume Asselin scored a consolation. Russia- Canada 4:1 Its worth noticing that in the women final of the Universiade Russia beat Canada with a score 4:1 as well. After match press conference: “It was a tough game as we expected, -commented the head coach of the Russian team Vladislav Khromych. – I think the fans liked the game. We fulfilled our strategy.
