Kraken V. Golden Knights Reaction Review Breakdown

Seattle Kraken inaugural game against the Vegas Golden Knights. VGK Max Pacioretty scores the first goal against the Kraken. Golden Knights win the first period 2 – 0 over the Kraken with goals from Pacioretty and Marchessault. Stone assists Pacioretty on goal one along with Chandler Stephenson. Seattle Kraken came out to hot in the first period and found themselves out of position causing the 3-2 goal against. Phillip Grubauer looked shaky in period one. Jonathan Marchessault great hands score’s goal two from William Karlsson after a Kraken turn over. Seattle Kraken defense backed into their zone far to much causing a breakdown of Gap and allowing the VGK to take advantage along with Marchessault silky mitts and sick dangles. Max Pacioretty score’s goal three to start the second period from Nicolas Hague and Mark Stone. Robin Lehner looked good until the second when Seattle Kraken surged with goals from Ryan Donato and Jared McCann. Ryan Donato scores first goal in Seattle Kraken history against the Vegas Golden Knights. Vince Dunn and Joonas Donskoi assisted Ryan Donato’s goal 1 second after the Seattle Power Play ended. Jared McCann score’s goal 2 for the Kraken assisted by Jordan Eberle and Jaden Schwartz. Morgan Geekie score’s goal three for the Kraken from Jeremy Lauzon to tie the game 3-3 but immediately after the knights Chandler Stephenson answers 35 seconds later with assists from Mark Stone and Max Pacioretty. Big night three-point night for Stone and huge three-point night for Pacioretty with Stephenson adding 2. That is 8 points and 3 goals for the first line. That was the big difference in tonight’s game, VGK line one is one of the best in the NHL but up and down the roster Kraken can match them. Grubauer will need to hold off opposing teams’ top line if the Kraken want to compete in the division this year and that is what he was paid to do. Grubauer was saved by three posts tonight as this game could have gotten away. Mark Giordano the first captain of the Seattle Kraken and the Kraken Defense played safe, causing to much gap between the forwards and giving up a few goals. Jamie Olesiak and Giordano are a massive defenseman and it was interesting to see Fleury paired with Giordano to start. Adam Larsson was solid as always with Olesiak, not much speak of in that pairing as they are a shutdown core and Jeremy Lauzon get the start over Soucy with Vince Dunn. The Depth of the pairing is incredible. Vince Dunn and Mark Giordano quarterbacked both powerplay units with Schwartz McCann and Eberle the first line matching up on Power Play 1. Donskoi Geekie and Donato got the nod for Power Play 2 and Wennberg mixed in up top with Giordano and Johansson with Dunn. Brandon Tanev was a key piece in the penalty kill and Tanev breakaway was stopped by Lehner. Nolan Patrick center powerplay one for the Vegas Golden Knights and the Knights are hoping Patrick becomes the draft pick and center he was meant to be. Why NHL Teams Either Survive… Or Take Over a Series
Why NHL Teams Either Survive… Or Take Over a Series

Every playoff series has a turning point. Game 4 is where everything changes. Some teams are fighting to stay alive — backs against the wall, forced to take risks, forced to change how they play. Others see the opportunity to take control of the series — and if they play it right, they don’t just win the game… they take over everything. In tonight’s games: What desperation actually looks like when teams are facing elimination How structure vs risk shows up differently in must-win situations Why some teams survive the moment… and others let it slip Featuring: Edmonton Oilers vs Anaheim Ducks Dallas Stars vs Minnesota Wild Boston Bruins vs Buffalo Sabres This isn’t about effort. It’s about understanding when to push, when to stay structured, and why Game 4 is often the hardest game to win in the NHL playoffs. Most teams don’t lose because they’re worse. They lose because they don’t adjust when it matters most. The Deeper You Go in the NHL Playoffs… The Truth Comes Out

Early NHL playoff games can fool you. Scores look close. Series feel tight. But the deeper you go… execution starts to separate teams. Breaking down: Colorado Avalanche vs Los Angeles Kings Buffalo Sabres vs Boston Bruins Tampa Bay Lightning vs Montreal Canadiens Edmonton Oilers vs Anaheim Ducks From gap control and decision speed, to pressure, fatigue, and composure — this is what actually decides playoff hockey. Some teams execute when it matters. Some teams break under it. And some don’t even feel it yet. That’s the difference.
