Winnipeg Jets grounded by the Anaheim Ducks 4 - 1 Game Reaction

Winnipeg Jets lose 4 – 1 to the Anaheim Ducks on their opening game. John Gibson steals the game from the Winnipeg Jets and The Ducks youth of Trevor Zegras and Jamie Drysdale win against the NHL Jets. Mason Mactavish scores his first NHL goal against the Jets. Kyle Connor scores for the Winnipeg Jets from Blake Wheeler and Paul Stastny. Cole Perfetti debut with the Winnipeg Jets was solid, Perfetti needs to be an NHL regular this year in Winnipeg. Josh Morrissey rebounded playing with Nate Schmidt and looks like the same Morrissey that was paired with Jacob Trouba. Neal Pionk and Brendan Dillon were good. Connor Hellebuyck had a bad game letting in 4 goals against the Ducks. Hellebuyck didn’t look like the franchise goalie he is and maybe Hellebuyck was in a bad headspace after his pregnant girlfriend posted a tough situation she had today on social media. Nic Ehlers was amazing and needs to be on Winnipeg’s Power Play 1. Ehlers is a dynamic player for the Jets and can do things with the puck others wish they could. Blake Wheeler moved to his off wing on the power play with Kyle Connor in the shooters position and Pierre Luc Dubois took over the center ice position. Winnipeg needs to improve it’s faceoff depth as in key situations Winnipeg still struggles to win draws. Adam Lowry is Winnipeg’s best draw man at 51% over his career.
