Following an unbeaten start to the 21/22 season, Liverpool welcomed Chelsea to Anfield in front of a full packed crowd. Chelsea took the lead thanks to an astonishing past Allison to concede their first goal of the season. In the penultimate game of Liverpool's turbulent season, Liverpool needed a win to get into the top 4 for the first time since March. Liverpool headed into halftime with a win after a firmino goal. Phillips nodded in a second goal and also cleared off the line while Oxlade Chamberlain came off the bench and scored the third goal. West Brom had taken an early lead thanks to a Robson-Kanu first goal in 3yrs in the premier league before parity was restored by nobody but superb Salah. Thanks to VAR and Mike Dean, Westbrom had a 2nd goal ruled out after a player was judged to have obstructed the Liverpool goalie. With the game looking all dead and gone, Alisson rose highest after joining in the last action of the game to head Liverpool closer to the Champions League next season. With both Chelsea and Leicester facing each other on Tuesday night, the ball is rightly in Liverpool's hands.

In the aftermath of the news of The Super League, Leeds united faced one of the founding members of the competition at Elland Road and it ended in a stalemate. Just before Kick off, Leeds united players had worn a shirt to mock Liverpool's inclusion in the TSL. The reds had taken a first half lead after Sadio Mane put Liverpool in front thanks to a brillaint play from Kabak, Jota and in form Alexander-Arnold to score just his 4th league goal of the season. The performance did go down the drain and the reds were punished for it after Llorente had put the header past Allison to bring the host back into the game. A win here would have propelled Liverpool into 4th position on the table but the final result ensured they remained in 6th place on the log

The reds eventually got their first win at Anfield in 2021, also scoring their first open play goal in the league at home since December. Was a nervy finish to the end but Liverpool came out on top with a 90th minute winner by Trent Alexander Arnold. The result took Liverpool to 4th on the log temporarily.
