#wnba #Fever #Lynx WNBA finals 2012 Game 1 highlights Indiana Fever at Minnesota Lynx, October 14, 2012 Boxscore - https://www.basketball-reference.com/wnba/boxscores/201210140MIN.html Erlana Larkins, Fever stun Lynx to claim Game 1 of finals The Minnesota Lynx entered the WNBA Finals with a banner already hanging in Target Center and a loaded roster that had visions of becoming the league's next dynasty. The Indiana Fever haven't backed down from a fight all postseason, and it's clear they don't plan to start now. Erlana Larkins had 16 points and 15 rebounds and the Fever stunned defending champion Minnesota with a 76-70 victory over the Lynx in Game 1 on Sunday night. "We've made it to this point, what's there to fear?" Larkins said. "We know they're the defending champions and they're going to bring their 'A' game. ... So what, they're the defending champs? We're here to take one." That's exactly what the Fever did -- they took it. Tamika Catchings scored 20 points for the Fever, who played without leading scorer Katie Douglas because of a sprained left ankle. They scored 15 points off of 17 Minnesota turnovers and outscored the Lynx 38-24 in the paint to become just the second visiting team this season to win at Target Center. "We came in here without any fear," coach Lin Dunn said. Briann January added 11 points and six assists and Erin Phillips scored 13 for Indiana. Game 2 in the best-of-five series is Wednesday night in Minneapolis. Seimone Augustus scored 23 points and Rebekkah Brunson added 10 points and 10 rebounds for the Lynx, who are looking to become the WNBA's first repeat champion in 10 years. Maya Moore had 14 points and 10 boards but made just 4 of 14 shots and Lindsay Whalen managed 12 points on 4-for-12 shooting. Now they've lost homecourt and trail in a series for the first time since their title run started last year. "For some reason we didn't come out ready to play and they were," Augustus said. Indiana led by 10 in the second quarter and withstood a furious opening to the second half by the Lynx. Minnesota looked to be taking control with an 8-0 run midway through the third that gave them a 54-50 lead and put the Fever on their heels. But it takes more than a few jumpers in a row to shake this resilient Fever. Indiana pulled it off without Douglas, who severely sprained her left ankle early in Game 3 of the Eastern Conference finals in Connecticut and didn't make the trip. There is some question whether Douglas will be available at all in this series. Losing a leading scorer normally would mean curtains for a title run, but the Fever have already shown they can overcome problems like this. They trailed each of the first two series 1-0 before rallying to win the last two games as they chase after their first title. The Fever even played their best game of the postseason after Douglas went down with the ankle injury five minutes into the game against the Sun, burying Connecticut with a barrage of 3-pointers to cruise to a 16-point victory. They were just as strong in the finals opener early, using superior ball movement to find wide open shots on the perimeter and cutters to the basket for easy layups. Indiana opened up a 10-point lead in the second quarter and some hard-nosed play had the Lynx flustered. Catchings leveled guard Monica Wright with a screen and Augustus picked up a technical foul after Wright was called for a foul on the play. "We are not here to just be in the finals," Catchings said. "We are here for a great opportunity, and both teams, we both want it bad. So every game is going to be just like this game. It's going to be tough, it's going to be hard-nosed." Just the way Larkins likes it. The 6-foot-1, 205-pound center bullied her way around the paint all night, out-muscling the Lynx frontcourt for position and keeping possessions alive with grit and hustle. Her putback with 3:20 to play gave the Fever a 72-62 lead, and now the Fever have the view from the driver's seat for the first time this postseason as they go for their first title. "She is exactly the type of player we've been looking for, what I call a warrior," Dunn said. "She does all the dirty work." Attendance figures have been down league-wide this season, a troubling sign for a league that has been fighting to gain traction in the United States almost since its inception. The lower bowl was jammed at Target Center for Game 1, with a spirited crowd announced at 14,322 waving white pom poms. They didn't have much to cheer about in the fourth quarter, when the top offensive team in the league missed 12 straight shots at one point to squander any chance at a comeback. "They only played seven players. They came off a three-game series," Lynx coach Cheryl Reeve said. "They have been traveling. You know, they are exactly what we thought they would be, and probably then some." Make sure you're checking out more of my videos and "SUBSCRIBE" to be notified every time about new video!

WNBA 2010 finals Game 2 highlights Atlanta Dream at Seattle Storm, September 14, 2010
WNBA 2010 finals Game 2 highlights Atlanta Dream at Seattle Storm, September 14, 2010

#wnba #Atlanta #Seattle WNBA 2010 finals Game 2 highlights Atlanta Dream at Seattle Storm, September 14, 2010 Boxscore - https://www.basketball-reference.com/wnba/boxscores/201009140SEA.html The Storm are just one win away from their second WNBA title. "It's almost like everyone is disgusted with how we've played the last two games," Agler said. "The point is, we're up 2-0." League MVP Lauren Jackson scored 26 points, Swin Cash added 19 and Seattle moved one step closer to the title with an 87-84 win over the Atlanta Dream in Game 2 of the Finals. Seattle improved to 21-0 at home this season and is hoping it won't need another game at Key Arena. The best-of-five series resumes Thursday night in Atlanta, where the Storm can wrap up their first title since 2004. "We pulled it off, thank God. So I'm happy," Jackson said. The Storm had plenty of reasons to be pleased after winning two rough and ragged games in Seattle. Iziane Castro Marques, who kept Atlanta close with 21 points Tuesday night, might have broken her nose for the second time in two months after a first-quarter collision kept her on the bench for a chunk of the second quarter with an ice bag on her nose. Angel McCoughtry, the Dream's leading scorer, wore a Band-Aid over her left eye, the result of a collision in Game 1 that required stitches. McCoughtry was off in Game 2, making just seven of 23 shots on her way to 21 points. She tried to salvage the shaky performance, scoring five quick points in the final 30 seconds to help Atlanta close to 87-84. Cash missed two free throws with 2.2 seconds left but Atlanta could not get off a potential tying shot. "I keep hearing all these like moral victories -- I live in the reality of the wins and losses," Cash said. "For me, it comes down to whether we win or we lose. "Bottom line we won two games at home like we're supposed to do and now we go on the road and try to steal one." McCoughtry, averaging 28 points entering the Finals, was held to 19 points in 21 minutes in Game 1, saddled by early foul trouble and slowed when she needed stitches. It was more of the same Tuesday night. She continued to struggle with her shot, missing 10 of her first 11 attempts, before hitting four straight at the end of the first half. Her falling-down 3-pointer at the halftime horn trimmed Atlanta's deficit to 49-47. But McCoughtry went cold again in the second half. She took just eight shots after the break and was flustered by the defense of Cash and Tanisha Wright, with the long arms of Jackson always lurking nearby. To add insult to an already miserable night for Atlanta's star, Camille Little forced her way through McCoughtry's foul for a layup with 4:11 left and an eight-point Seattle lead. "I just missed some shots. You're going to have bad days," McCoughtry said. "I had good looks. Usually I knock them down. I just didn't knock them down today. I just gotta stay more focused." Wright added 17 points for Seattle and Bird, whose 16-footer with 2 seconds left won Game 1 for Seattle, had 10 points. Bird helped turn back the Dream in the third quarter when Atlanta tried taking control, and Cash made an open 3-pointer with 2:30 left in the game to give Seattle an 81-73 lead. Castro Marques put the Dream in position to even the series. With an array of one-handed runners from all over the court, the former Seattle forward led Atlanta to a 62-59 lead with possession and less than 4 minutes remaining in the third quarter. Bird then drove for a layup, found Jackson on a fast break for another layup and added a left-handed drive to retake the lead. Le'coe Willingham added a quick baseline spin and basket at the end of the third to give Seattle a 69-65 advantage. Seattle outscored Atlanta 27-16 at the free throw line. "I thought that we were aggressive and we got called for fouls," Atlanta coach Marynell Meadors said. "There were way too many fouls called in this game." WNBA 2010 finals Game 1 highlights Atlanta Dream at Seattle Storm, September 12, 2010

#wnba #Atlanta #Seattle WNBA 2010 finals Game 1 highlights Atlanta Dream at Seattle Storm, September 12, 2010 Boxscore - https://www.basketball-reference.com/wnba/boxscores/201009120SEA.html Sue Bird hits winner with 2.6 seconds left as Storm take Game 1 of WNBA Finals Different game. Different venue. Same old Sue Bird. Same result for the Seattle Storm, too. Bird made a tiebreaking jumper from the foul line with 2.6 seconds left and the Storm beat the Atlanta Dream 79-77 in Game 1 of the WNBA Finals on Sunday. Angel McCoughtry had a last-second try for the Dream, but her long 3-pointer from the left side bounced off the far side of the rim at the buzzer. The best-of-five series resumes Tuesday night in Seattle. Bird also hit a key shot in the Western Conference finals, making a 3-pointer with 2.8 seconds left to give the Storm a 91-88 victory in the clinching game last Sunday at Phoenix. "I was able to get a real good look, and it was a pull-up, which is what I like, and swish," Bird said Sunday. "It's just something that, situations like this, I was put into at a very early age. At this point in my career, it's something I enjoy. Those situations are fun -- especially when they go in." WNBA MVP Lauren Jackson had 26 points and eight rebounds for Seattle. Bird finished with 14 points, and Camille Little had 18 points and 11 rebounds as the Storm remained unbeaten in 20 home games this season. McCoughtry and Iziane Castro Marques had 19 points apiece for Atlanta. Sancho Lyttle added 10 points and 14 rebounds. McCoughtry wound up with three stitches in her forehead after a hard collision with Seattle's Jana Vesela with 8:59 to play. While she returned to the game, McCoughtry was ill afterward and unavailable for interviews. Dream trainer Kim Moseley said McCoughtry did not have a concussion and, barring any headaches, was expected to participate in practice Monday. McCoughtry, who came in averaging 28 points in four playoff games, had a rough day all around. She picked up three first-quarter fouls, sat out the entire second quarter and wound up shooting just 6 of 17 in 21½ minutes. "She has to do a better job of not getting into foul trouble and still staying aggressive," Atlanta coach Marynell Meadors said. "If we can keep her in the game on Tuesday, she'll have a better chance of getting into some type of rhythm." On a day when the Seattle Seahawks opened their NFL season in front of more than 60,000 fans at Qwest Field just a few miles to the south, an announced crowd of 15,084 filled the lower bowl and a good portion of the upper balcony at KeyArena. Jackson made a 3-pointer late in the third to give Seattle the lead for good at 52-49 and the Storm carried a six-point advantage into the final period. After shooting just 2 of 7 in the first half, Jackson went 5 of 8 in the third, scoring 14 points. "We talked at halftime about how we wanted to go through her and play through her," Storm coach Brian Agler said. "Even if she doesn't score, we wanted her handling the ball." Atlanta trailed by nine in the fourth before tying it at 77 on Castro Marques' three-point play with a minute left. After each team traded missed chances, the stage was set for Bird's last-second shot. "We had to make a good defensive play in that situation," Castro Marques said. "It was just a good play [by Seattle] with two good shooters, and it's hard to defend that." The Storm went on a 20-4 run in the first quarter to take a 22-9 lead, hitting nine of their first 13 shots while the Dream hit just four of their first 15. But Atlanta started playing better toward the end of the first quarter and carried it over to the second. A 21-6 surge capped with a steal and driving lay-in by Coco Miller gave the Dream a 30-28 lead with 3:42 left in the half. Castro Marques made a 3-pointer at the halftime buzzer to tie it at 39. "Everyone just wanted to pull together," Jackson said. "At halftime, we knew we could play better basketball. We'd gotten away from some of the things that got us here." Each team had to deal with foul trouble for one of its star players. Besides Atlanta's McCoughtry, Seattle forward Swin Cash picked up two fouls in the first minute of the game and was whistled for her third with 6:10 left in the first quarter. She wound up playing just 8½ minutes in the first half. Make sure you're checking out more of my videos and "SUBSCRIBE" to be notified every time about new video!

Fenerbahce Istanbul vs Real Madrid 77-81 best plays October 3, 2019

Fenerbahce Dogus Istanbul vs Real Madrid 77-81 highlights October 3, 2019 Fenerbahçe Beko Erkek Basketbol Takımımız, Turkish Airlines EuroLeague 2019-2020 sezonu ilk maçında Real Madrid’e konuk oldu. 40). Serbia Italy - 71-65 Preparation game highlights for FIBA Basketball World Cup 2019, August 23

Lithuania Russia 88-72 Preparation game highlights for FIBA Basketball World Cup 2019, August 17

Lietuva Rusija 88-72 Antrą susitikimą per dvi dienas žaidusi Lietuvos vyrų krepšinio rinktinė Espo mieste (Suomija) vykusiame draugiškame trijų komandų turnyre išliko nepralaimėjusi – 88:72 (21:12, 22:23, 27:21, 18:16) įveikė Rusijos rinktinę ir iškovojo simbolinę, tačiau vistiek pirmąją vietą. Lietuvius į pergalę vedė fantastiškai sužaidę Marius Grigonis ir Domantas Sabonis.
