The Aztecs returned "home" for the last game and most important game of the 2021 season...a grudge match vs Boise State. The two programs have often been referred to as the flagship programs of the Mountain West Conference. But while every other team struggles against the Broncos, only SDSU has been toe to toe, even at 3 games a piece, against Boise State. In Basketball however it's not even close as the Aztecs dominate easily. This CBS Nationally televised game was crucial for the Aztecs. Win and they are in—the football Championship game—and they did just that. After a slow first two quarters the Aztecs offense got hot with QB Jordon Brookshire coming in just before the half. And the rest of the game, the heralded San Diego State defense overwhelmed the Broncos. The Aztecs win 27-16, scoring 24 unanswered points and now will host Utah State Dec 4 for the Championship.
