भारतीय टीम को दिसम्बर के दूसरे सप्ताह में साउथ अफ्रीका दौरे के लिए रवाना होना है। भारतीय टीम को साउथ अफ्रीका दौर पर 17 दिसम्बर से 7 जनवरी 2022 तक 3 टेस्ट मैच और 11 जनवरी से 16 जनवरी तक 3 वन डे और 19 - 26 जनवरी के बीच कुल 4 टी20 इंटरनेश्नल मुक़ाबले खेलने हैं, लेकिन इसी दौरान साउथ अफ्रीका में तेज़ी से फ़ैल रहे नए कोरोना वैरियंट के कारण भारत का साउथ अफ्रीका दौरा स्थगित किया जा सकता है। आपने देखा होगा कि साउथ अफ्रीका दौरे पर गई नीदरलैंड क्रिकेट टीम मैच शुरू होने के बाद भी वापस लौट आई है। नीदरलैंड क्रिकेट बोर्ड ने दक्षिण अफ्रीका का दौरा (South Africa Tour) रद्द कर दिया। इसके साथ ही अपनी टीम को टूर से वापस घर भेजने का फैसला किया है। साउथ अफ्रीका में ओमीक्रॉन नाम के नए कोरोना वैरियंट के चलते पूरी दुनिया डरी हुई है। भारत ने साउथ अफ्रीका से आने वालों पर बैन लगा दिया है और साउथ अफ्रीका जाने पर भी मनाही है। ऐसे में भारत के आगामी दक्षिण अफ्रीका दौरे को लेकर खेल मंत्री अऩुराग ठाकुर ने एक बयान भी दिया है। उनका कहना है कि ऐसी स्थिति में bcci को भारत सरकार से अनुमति लेने के बाद ही कोई फैसला लेना होगा। भारत के दक्षिण अफ्रीका दौरे के लिए बीसीसीआई जब भारत सरकार से बातचीत करेगी तो उसके बाद ही ये फैसला लिया जायेगा कि भारतीय टीम साउथ अफ्रीका दौरे पर जाना चाहिए या नहीं। सूत्रों के मुताबिक भारतीय क्रिकेट कण्ट्रोल बोर्ड यानी bcci इस समय साउथ अफ्रीका क्रिकेट बोर्ड CAA के संपर्क में है। भारतीय टीम को अपने ये सारे मैच जिन चार जगहों यानी जोहानिसबर्ग, सेंचुरियन, पर्ल और केपटाउन में खेलने हैं उनमें से दक्षिण अफ्रीका के जोहानिसबर्ग और सेंचुरियन के करीब कोरोना के नए वैरियंट का खतरा काफी अधिक है। ऐसे में अगर स्थितियां नार्मल रहेंगी तो भारतीय टीम कड़े रूल्स के साथ साउथ अफ्रीका चार्टेड प्लेन से भी भेजा जा सकता है। The Indian team is to leave for the South Africa tour in the second week of December.
